TEAS V: your score, low "program mean"s, and other stuff

Published

okay, so i know there are a ton of teas score threads but all i have found are old and mainly full of teas iv score.if you took the teas v i would love to know your score (and program percentile rank if you remember) and whether or not you were accepted.

i just took the teas v for lower columbia college and scored a 78.7%. that put me into the 97 percentile. this is the frst time lcc has used version v. i was completely shocked because i am by no means top of the class. i am at a 3.4 gpa.

lcc is taking 60/121 applicants this time. to remain in the running you must get a mimimum scores is each category. i put thos in black. in red is the program mean for our particular group. like i said, this is our first time with teas v so the scores are of the 121 applying .

reading: 69% 63.7%

math: 63.3% 60%

science: 45.8% 42.3%

english: 60% 57.1%

i find it crazy that scores are so low! the program means are not even making the minimum program requirements. i went from thinking there was no way i would get in to thinking maybe...just maybe :yeah:. i won't find out anything until mid may, so until then i will obsess over percentages and wish i was better at statistics to figure out how many were disqualified for scoring too low in just one catergory. hehehe...

anyone else seen this?

I am in deleware county In PA attending DCCC and trying to get into the nursing program for fall 2012. Our minimum score has to be a 50% so we are wayyyyy lower then the rest of you. We just recently switched from the NET to the TEAS and I actually liked the TEAS better. They made the faculty take the TEAS and the 50% is what the aveage was from the instructors crazy huh....

The program mean is not your individual school.n It is all students in that type of program: LPN, ADN, or BSN. Your school may have data on their applicants but the program mean on the TEAS results paper you get is for all programs of that type.

I haven't taken the TEAS V yet but my school requires a 68% overall score, and a 78% reading score. I think they must be having a hard time getting applicants up to par because they offer 4 free test prep workshops (one for each category) and if you attend all 4 they'll even pay the test fee for you. So I'm going to do that, who wouldn't? That's why I'm waiting to take the test, I have to see when the next round of workshops is. I'll be applying for Spring '13 acceptance. Good luck to those of you who already submitted your apps!

My school only looks at Math and Science, so that was all I studied. I didn't have the money for the ATI guide or practice tests. I just used online resources and friends for information. I was really worried because I didn't have the money to prepare like I wanted to. However, I am very pleased with my scores. My school awards points for 60, 70, and then an 80 or above. So if you get an 80 you're golden. Here are my scores:

Reading: 76.2

Math: 80.00

Science: 79.2

English: 76.7

Adj. Ind.: 78 Advanced

National Perc. Rank: 84

Program Perc. Rank: 71

I haven't received my TEAS V scores yet. I am worried. I know I probably scored 95-100% on the English, Reading and Science, but what if I score a 58% or 60% in Math?

Do I have a chance to get in a Nursing Program in Florida?
