okay, so i know there are a ton of teas score threads but all i have found are old and mainly full of teas iv score.if you took the teas v i would love to know your score (and program percentile rank if you remember) and whether or not you were accepted.
i just took the teas v for lower columbia college and scored a 78.7%. that put me into the 97 percentile. this is the frst time lcc has used version v. i was completely shocked because i am by no means top of the class. i am at a 3.4 gpa.
lcc is taking 60/121 applicants this time. to remain in the running you must get a mimimum scores is each category. i put thos in black. in red is the program mean for our particular group. like i said, this is our first time with teas v so the scores are of the 121 applying .

i find it crazy that scores are so low! the program means are not even making the minimum program requirements. i went from thinking there was no way i would get in to thinking maybe...just maybe . i won't find out anything until mid may, so until then i will obsess over percentages and wish i was better at statistics to figure out how many were disqualified for scoring too low in just one catergory. hehehe...
anyone else seen this?

From what Ive seen the program mean is always pretty low because they count every attempt. At least with Version V. Its new so the scores are lower and also because this one is harder than the Teas IV.
BTW, I took the Teas V and got a 90.7% overall adjusted score. My lowest percentage was an 83% on the Grammar section. My schools stats are about the same as yours. So I was in the 99th percentile. I don't apply until June and won't find out if I got in until October (grr) but I am pretty confident I will get in.
Hope that helps
p.s.s. I studied the teas book and took four practice tests before the real thing.
For us you can't retake until next admission cycle (in fall ...6 months away!). I can't wait to hear if you got in! I am so nervous I can't stand it.
Good ol' upper 90 percentiles. I don't mind if I don't do great on the test...just as long as everyone else does worse. HA!
exactly!

my score 79.3 90th percentile in my program, 89th percentile for the nation. mean score of my program is 64.7 still waiting to see if i got in. they require a minimum score of 58.9 and a 50 in each section.
they only allow you to test twice..if you fail both you cant apply to the program ever. this was my first attempt. i studied the teas v study guide and took practice test a online.

My TEAS V Stats
Adjusted Individual Score-81.3%
National Mean- 63.3%
Program mean-68.9%
National Percentile Rank-92%
Program Percentile Rank-84%
The unofficial rankings come out in a couple of weeks so ill know shortly whether or not my score was good enough to get me into the program.
Still not seeing anyone with schoool scores lower than ours. Ha! A recent news article on the school showed that out of the 3,000 (ish)full time students 1200 listed nursing as their major. Our school is small but EVERYONE and their dog decided to become a nurse.
I hope we all get acceptance letters soon! (and snail mail? Really? Can't we move on to email--I am impatient!)
OOH. One thing I didn not add, which I think is a rather important detail, is that the mean in our program for each category is anywhere from 3-5% LOWER that what our college will accept. That means a heck of a lot of people will be disqualified from the running and have to wait until next admission cycle for retakes!
a lot of applicants at my school are having problem getting the overall score of 58% needed to pass the teas. I think most are needing the 2 attempts allowed to get the passing score.
Im suprised that a 58% is all thats required. I wouldnt think they would want students to aim for an F. At my school the minimum is 70%, but your allowed to take it as many times as you want.
Well I dont think you can really call it an F when TEAS says that a 58 is considered PROFICIENT, 70- mid 80's is ADVANCED, and above an 85 you get EXEMPLARY.
So if an 85 is exemplary..then a 58 is not an "F"

Most of us are dying to know if we got in :) So I'll gladly play along and pick my score apart while we wait!
Score: 80% "Advanced"
Program Mean: 64.7%
Nat. Percentile Rank: 90%; program percentile 91%
My program min. for TEAS V is 60%. If they differentiate subscores, it is not written or spoken of.
Subscores:
Reading 71.4% (Now THIS really got me, because I got a 31 on ACT)
Math: 80%
Science: 75%
English: 93.3%
Definitely get the appropriate book. I used both the TEAS V study book AND an NLN Pre-Nursing book I bought when I first decided to pursue nursing, and they both helped. The NLN guide is very similar. Take the reading seriously- they pull out a lot of terminology that you likely haven't heard in years.
I think part of my reading score being what it is stems from having also recently taken the ACT and running out of time on that section. The time constraint for the TEAS was nowhere near as difficult as the time constraint for ACT.
Good luck everyone- but do study!
