Hello To All,

I am having trouble finding good TEAS test prep materials for my exam. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I took the TEAS V yesterday! So I can without a doubt say purchase the ATI materials. I purchased the study guide and the two practice exams. My advice is to do the same because the real exam is just like the practice exams. I even saw a couple repeated questions from the practice exams on the real exam.

I did the first practice exam before doing any studying and found that I didn't need to study Math or Reading as I felt those scores were good enough. Science and Grammar were my problem areas. Since Science was my lowest score, I had the most opportunity to bring that score up. I studied Science for 3 days and then did the second practice test. My grade overall raised by 10%! I studied for another day and then took the first practice test again and found that the practice tests alone were enough to raise my grades in Reading, Math and Grammar (just familiarizing myself with the questions and the math practice was enough). I studied one more day and then took the test. So I only studied for 5 days or so. I don't know my grade yet, but I can say the exam is just like the ATI practice tests, and I think all but 2 questions on the Science exam came from the study guide. The book seems like a lot of material, but it is well sectioned so you can tackle it little by little (or very quickly like I did). I recently took my pre-reqs, so the study material was familiar to me. If you are rusty, I would even plan to study for 3 - 4 weeks.

I think I got around an 85. Can't wait to find out!

I have to say pretty much what Jennys77 did....

Buy the ATI test prep manual and study. It comes with two practice tests in the book and two free online practice tests. I took the TEAS V twice and was able to improve my score. The reading section was rather tricky. In many cases, several answers are correct, you need to decide which is the MOST correct. If you haven't completed your science prereqs then you may have trouble with that section as some of the questions are advanced. Math was not bad. Make sure you understand basic Algebra. GPS wasn't bad, either. Just make sure you understand how to properly punctuate a sentence.

I have just recently taken the Teas V and didn't score high enough for my program. Can you tell me which study guide you purchased from ATI. Was it only the study manual or the study package which includes the two forms of the test? Any information would be great!Thank you for the help!

Get the ATI Testing materials directly from the www.atitesting.com site. This is the site where you will go to take the actual exam, too. I purchased the TEAS version V (five) with the two online tests for like $80 (I don't remember the exact price but it was around that). I studied for about 4-5 weeks. I took the test yesterday, the 12th. On my practice tests, I was scoring around 82-86. I did the worst in grammar, science, and math. I meticulously went through each type of problem in the math and science sections, and went through the types of problems I needed to improve on for English. I got a 94 on the actual test...I did think it was a bit easier than the practice exams I did. Definitely know how to FOIL (Algebra: First, Outer, Inner, Last), and add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions and mixed numbers (tip...to divide a fraction, just multiply by the inverse...so if the question says 5 1/2 divided by 1/8...you would really just multiply 5 1/2 by 8 (8/1=8). Give yourself enough time. Don't rush. My school only accepts the first attempt you do in a year. And the test is only good for a year. So basically if you don't do well the first time, you might as well wait a year to apply. So check with your school, take your time, and actually use the materials from ATI! I took a practice test, went over the math review in the study guide, took a different practice test, went over the science review, took a another practice test, and finally went over english and took another practice test. A week before the test, I redid the four practice tests I had done, one by one. I noticed I would get stuff wrong that I know I had trouble with the last time I took the test, so I went over those areas again.

Can anyone tell me what type of Chem is on the TEAS? Do we have to do Lewis Dot Notation for example and/or electron configuration using the arrow diagram? Also is there a chart for doing conversions?

Nothing like that but there may be a question or two about valence electrons and ionic/covalent bonds. They do not give you a periodic table and it really would have been helpful on a question or two. Make sure you know generic info about the most common elements (H, He, C, N, O). Make sure you understand oxidation numbers and formulas for determining chemical weight. I took the TEAS test twice and had completely different Chemistry subject areas on each test....weird. That's very helpful. I am so nervous. I take the TEAS V on Feb 6th and most schools only will take your first score and only once a year. I don't want to be studying the wrong things.

I haven't taken Chem yet, Im taking it in Spring so Im reading on it as much as I can.

Oh no! No periodic table. I will have to review atomic numbers and masses for a few things! I was hoping the table would be provided.
