:bugeyes:I looked online at my results. I would most definitely purchase the TEAS study guide and/or www.amazon.com/McGraw-Hills-Nursing-School-Entrance-Exams/dp/0071599371 . studying should be ur new friend..
Science questions.. Whew
-
hey sarahbanana, i took the teas and i did not find the science section in the ati book helpful at all. if you have any of your old science lab books, look over them. most of the questions, if i remember, is based off of experiments you did in labs. there are a couple of chemistry questions, a&p questions, physics and general science which is just common sense. also if you have the old net study guide book or know someone who does, try to get a hold of it. it helped me through the english section.good luck:o!!!!!!!
thank you vking!
too bad i just threw out my chem lab book from spring semester like 2 days ago- argh! i am kicking myself!! thanks for the tips :-) i will surely look through my old books, notes,etc... starting up a&p ii in two weeks. whoopeeedeeeeedooooooo!!!
hey sarahbanana, some of the science questions i remembered them asking was about controlled experiment, lithium (know how to draw lithium; protrons etc..) there are three questions about a&p( only one i remember is about the parasymp system). the one picture they have in the ati book about the cycle of rain or evaporation (don't remember exactly what it's called), was on the test. the picture they have of the arrows pointing to different animals, was on there. sorry it's been awhile. that's all i can remember for now:confused:. if i remember more i'll post it.
hope this helps:d!!!!

thank you! that def. helps! i wonder if everyone gets the same test? that would seem kind of dumb of them...
I was surprise on the science section too. There are many questions about chem, rock, physics, and ocean wave... Good thing I did very well on the reading and math sections. I bought the ATI book but it didn't help me much on the science section of the test. BUT I would still buy the ATI book to review some of those topics. Good luck

thanks for your input :-) I take the test in Sept and I am starting to study now before my A&P II class starts. The whole rock thing, I do not understand....that was like back in EIGHTH GRADE. WTH? Why do they want that on the test to see if we are going to do well in nursing school? whatever.... I'm on it...
i passed my TEAS exam today.
i think it's ridiculous that there are only 30 science questions. be sure you study the rocks as silly as that sounds. brush up on your dna & rna structure, punnet squares (set up & read), specific heat, be able to read and understand the periodic table, basic physics, basic scientific reasoning (go with your gut instinct), tertiary is a good word to know, covalent bonds and also memorize the definition of one word EUKARYOTIC. tee hee.
english and reading is pretty simple. this was the easiest part of the test. if you have problems figuring out where to put a comma, just read the sentence to yourself and where you would take a natural breath, add the comma.
for math, you will need to know how to convert fractions, multiplying, adding and dividing fractions, decimals, proportions, ratios, how to set up and solve word problems, basic math skills (don't make silly mistakes), mode, mean, median, algebraic expressions, reading charts, converting celcius to farenheit, metric conversions, simple formulas, inequalities etc. PEMDAS is your friend.
i absolutely hated how the ATI book was set up. the chapters discuss topics but be sure you take the practice tests as there is valuable information in these questions that ARE NOT discussed in the chapter prior. it's maddening!
i scored in the 90th percentile in reading and english, 69 in math and 70 in science.
hope this helps.
