Teacher editon textbooks vs. student edition?

Published

I've been looking online to purchase my college algebra textbook and they are cheaper than the college bookstore. First of all I am not looking to cheat. (I do all of my homework). My intermediate textbook gave the answers to the odd questions. I am just looking for extra help. Has anyone purchased them before?

I am dreading this class... Thanks for your help...

I have found an answer, my fellow classmates said that it is up to the Professor some do allow it. I'll post his reply. Maybe this will help someone else one day...

Thank you, I would I like to know the answer myself, as I didn't do too well on my placement test I took yesterday for math and have to take Algebra II.

I was also thinking about just buying a book and working through it on my own and retaking the math portion of the placement test to try to test out of it. Perhaps I can save myself a semester and $300-400. I do not know how to do graphing or use a graphing calculator, as back when I was in school (20+ years ago!) calculators were not allowed, so I was pretty clueless on a lot of the questions. I have a teenager who just finished Algebra I at the college and he can show me how to do it.
