TCU Fall 2017

Published

Hey Y'all!

I just applied for entrance into the Fall 2017 TCU BSN program. Looking for others who are in the same boat and maybe connect with hopeful future classmates! I attended one of the information sessions in which I was very surprised to hear them tell us NOT to retake any classes we have taken and passed with a C as they only want you to have a 2.5 or better. They said they look really hard at everyone as a person and not off your "book smarts" which I think is how admissions should work for something such as nursing. Little bit about myself I have been a PCT in the Harris ER for a year and a half, CNA license and NHA License as a Certified Electrocardiograph Technician. My GPA is a 2.65 not great, I know. However after this semester I will have completed ALL my BSN prerequisites classes.

My Hesi scores are:

Math 68

Grammar 74

Vocabulary 76

Reading 86

Anatomy 64

Biology 68

Chemistry 72

I'm hoping my personal statement, resume, ROM letters, and experience will help me get in!

No I don't believe so. If TCU students still have multiple pre reqs to complete they can be wait listed as opposed to just admitted. For example I'm a TCU student that was waitlisted. I have three pre reqs in progress right now, and two more to do over this summer. So someone with completed pre reqs or someone who is finishing them this Spring has a great chance!

Ohhh ok! I understand now, thank you for elaborating. Do you get notice via your TCU portal, mail or an e-mail?

I received an email to my TCU and personal email used in NursingCAS. I'm not sure if non TCU students get an email or a mailed decision. Sorry I'm not much help, but I just wanted to let people know that results are flowing out.

You have been so helpful! I appreciate it! Congrats on your status, even if it is waitlisted, you are a lot closer than some of us!

The transfer I knew got her acceptance in a packet. No email. Another got a rejection as an email. No letter.

Thanks! With the amount of pre reqs I have to still complete the best I could hope for is being waitlisted. Wouldn't be fair in the slightest if I was accepted while missing grades for five classes just because I was a TCU student.

Side note. When I was accepted to TCU as a student my portal was updated showing acceptance a few days before I received my actual mailed acceptance letter. I'm not sure if it's the same now, but definitely keep an eye on your portal and your mailbox!

So the chances of the TCU portal being updated today or prior to receiving a denial email or packet in the mail are slim to none?

My portal still says the same thing and no email.... I'm so nervous!!!

My portal is also still the same . Does it matter what your portal says? Does that make a difference?

What pre reqs are you missing?

I am currently missing one, A&P II. I have about two weeks left for it. I talked with my professor and in all I'm expected to make a B. Borderline A, it kills me!

The people that got waitlisted what pre reqs are you missing?

I am missing quite a few too!
