TCU Accelerated BSN 2014

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello to all! I am new to this site and was seeing if anyone has been accepted into the program for 2013 to give me pointers or if I can get aquainted with new applicants in the same boat as I..........I would apprecaite it!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Isn't that more so for the traditional track program though?

TCU told me this: "Regarding the HESI, we are primarily focusing on the scores you receive in math and reading.

You are correct in that TCU is only able to accept a limited number of transfer students for our clinical program each fall. The number depends on how many continuing students (students that started at TCU as freshmen are considered continuing as they are automatically guaranteed placement into our clinical program) we have. On average we are able to accept anywhere between 20-40 transfer students each year.

No because they are graduating with their BA/ BS degrees...prob have already taken their pre reqs...it's just what she said...

Oh, I see. Are you applying for the accelerated program as well?

Yes I am. However, probably not for this coming entry. I was going to but changed my mind. Going to finish my couple pre reqs... Take the HESI and TEAS V and apply to a few different schools. The thing with TCU is that I can't work while in it so I need to make sure the timing is good....which that means next year. Also considering WGU Dallas ... Since I don't have one if the pre reqs done they require then I have to wait till next entrance as well. I am also considering an ADN program and then doing the RN to BSN online as well.

Good luck!!! I have a few found interest for the UTEP program so I will be applying there as well! I just don't know what pre reqs they require and can't find it online :bluecry1:

Hmmm I'll look and see if I see anything... And thanks!

Hi, Stacey! I just saw your post. I am taking the test on January 24th at 4PM at TCU. How did your test go?

Just got my grades for this semester! All A's and a B in statistics!! That is such a load off! Next semester is A&P2 and MicroB. Taking the HESI January 10 @ TCU. Taking the prereqs at TCC which is where the advisor at TCU told me to take them... so I think its fine. I have done some research and it looks like they have had so many applicants in the past that only about 30% were admitted. : / Now that classes are out I plan on studying like crazy for the HESI test and writing my personal statement for the nursingcas application. Seems like March is soooo far away....[/quote']

Soooo! How did you do???

Sorry for the late response! I am thinking everyone was right when they said I was off my rocker for taking Micro, A&PII, and Chemistry all in the same semester. Those three sciences plus my Religion and Lifespan and Dev courses are REALLY kicking my butt, and its ONLY week TWO! Either way, I got an overall 92 on the HESI test! I was crazy happy that day. I used the official study guide from HESI and it was really helpful... Good Luck tomorrow! I am sure you will do well!! I finished up my resume and personal statement last weekend and submitted my NursingCAS application. Now it's just a waiting game. Hate that game. lol

I just took the HESI this morning and made an 87.2 overall. I guess I am okay with that. Still waiting on my CAS to get that University transcript in. UGH... waiting stinks.

Quick question: NursingCas still has not received one of my transcripts. I was told as long as my application is submitted by the deadline TCU will still look at my application.... But then I heard if NursingCas has not received my transcripts by the Feb 1st deadline then TCU will view my application as incomplete. Which is true?

Ah man. I'm not sure. I would email them and ask. I was worried about my last transcript but it got there in time. Call or email and ask. That's what I would do.
