TCC Spring 2016 Applicants

Published

I hope it's not too early to start a thread for those who are planning to apply to TCC this summer for Spring 2016. I will be applying with one A and two B's. I'm getting ready for my HESI test and I hope to get a good score. For those who have applied before, has anyone ever been accepted with one A.? I'm hopeful and also nervous. So let's get the ball rolling, and help encourage each other.

@ERiding2016 my GPA was a 3.3 - A in micro and B's in both AP courses. I wish I was able to retake them and I can for some other programs but for TCC I need to score as high as I can on the HESI

I got in with an A in micro, A in A&P2 and a B in A&P1 with a 93 on my HESI. I had to retake my micro that I originally had a C in. I didn't get accepted last semester due to that C. Hope this helps.

Jenny: Why can't you retake? Have you already taken them twice? You're allowed two attempts.

Does anyone know what type of drug test we will have to do?? lol no, I don't do drugs.. Just curious and ready to set everything up!

I think they have you make an appointment with a lab and I believe it's a urine test? Not 100%.

@ Aliyune, I retook my AP 1/2 twice. My micro is an A so no need to repeat. I was only a handful of points away from an A in both my AP courses and that was with very challenging professors. Some of the "better" profs I couldn't get into because I never had been to TCC prior to pursuing my nursing degree and therefore I had a later registration date.

People typically get in with a 3.3 and a Hesi 94 or above, so that's my plan for TCC and based on the requirements for some other schools I feel positive in getting in elsewhere since many require additional pre-reqs of which I have As in.

@jennyfever What schools are planning on applying too?

El Centro, TCC, Brookhaven and maybe some other DCCD schools, NCTC and Weatherford. I haven even looked at the TEAS test but I guess I'll start now.

The TEAS was a lot harder than the HESI. I'm looking at Weatherford for ADN or LVN. I am going to try and get an A in my A&P 1. Good luck!!!

Is anyone going to say that they want to be considered for hybrid classes?

I opted against hybrid

Are you against online classes? I just figured it might leave more time to work.
