TCC Spring 2016 Applicants

Published

I hope it's not too early to start a thread for those who are planning to apply to TCC this summer for Spring 2016. I will be applying with one A and two B's. I'm getting ready for my HESI test and I hope to get a good score. For those who have applied before, has anyone ever been accepted with one A.? I'm hopeful and also nervous. So let's get the ball rolling, and help encourage each other.

If you haven't started immunizations... That is not good. But really you can go virtually anywhere. Like aliyune said... Wal mart even has clinics now. Or just find a new doctor that can do them for you

I'm sick too! Boo us, hopefully we'll start feeling better soon. I've been trying to rest as much as possible; my schedule is a little crazy right now so it's not really happening. But... it's good for keeping my mind occupied!

Is anyone else planning on working while in the program? Full time/part time? Healthcare related or no?

I'm currently a shift manager at a pizza place, and will hopefully continue that at least until I can work as a PCT (after first semester I think?).

@atorrey, I didn't receive any sort of email or anything, if that's what you mean by confirmation. I did speak directly with Katherine though, so I have no doubts mine was received.

I have two small children so I may have to work part time to pay for child care. Right now I stay home with them. You can work as a PCT after your first year. My friend is in the program and she just became a PCT. I hope you feel better!

I am hoping to continue working full time. I am currently an insurance adjuster and work out of my house. So i am hoping my job will allow me to switch up my schedule if i get accepted.... I have to work.. I am bread winner. I also have 3 kids. But i have a great support system.

I have been so sick... But schiol 5 days a week... Work... Kids... Yeah no breaks here. But like you said... Keeps me occupied!

I guessed the 23rd based on what we have seen on previous application cycle threads. In my head it seem logical we would likely be notified closer to mid week vs end of a week.

I work full time at a local ER. Luckily, our shifts are 12 hrs and we only

work 3 days a week. Other people there have been successful getting their school and work schedules to jive. Not working isn't an option. I have two kiddos and even though hubby works we still need somewhat of an income from me.

I know for a fact you can get hired as a PCT or a Nurse Extern after you first semester. No need to wait a full year.

Katherine also said when I turned my application in that it would be around the end of September.

I am an insurance adjuster too cparsons0906 :)

Oh really @atorrey !? What kind of claims do you adjust and who is your employer

I am in auto claims now, I currently work for AgWorkers Insurance. I was with Liberty Mutual before that as a total loss specialist and before that I worked for Arkansas Farm Bureau for 8 yrs and handled property and casualty claims. I have been doing claims for 15 yrs, I am so over it. LOL

Oh cool! I do non subscription which is the new workers comp pretty much but with control! Workers comp blows. I have doing it almost 4 and already am pretty over it lol. I need to be active... Not sitting down all day. I am getting sedentary butt! Lol

I work in insurance for THR. It's more data entry and occasional coding. It's not a bad job but it gets repetitive. The ED I'm at is a free standing ER so they have us in and out of patients rooms which is a nice intro to the medical field. Before THR, I worked for Sally Beauty's corporate office as an assistant buyer- talk about stressing over shampoo but at least the free beauty products were an amazing perk.
