TCC Spring 2013 Applicants

I have not seen a thread yet so I thought I would get one going for those applying for this Spring.

I am so SAD! I just took my Hesi this am and got a 85. The vocab really brought my score down , and I thought it was easy. My problem is I get really bad test anxiety. Ugh. I have a 4.0 but am really worried about the hesi score. I guess I will have to wait and see.

I did most of my vocab studying on quizlet. I found that the flash cards on the site had a lot more words than the HESI study manual. Actually, the test itself had lots more words from quizlet than it did from the book. I ended up with a 92 on vocab!

I know it depends on who you talk to and things change due to many factors; but I was told they will accept between 100-150 out of approx 370 applicants. Notification mid November. I know this isn't new news..but I thought I would share. Now the very long wait to November. Glad I am taking classes to help distract me!! Good luck to all..hope they take the max :)

Wow looks like everybody has great HESI scores! I applied for Spring 2013 and have a 3.8 GPA and a 88% on my HESI. I am hoping that is enough to get me in. Does anybody know anything regarding how they decide who gets accepted? I know its based on your GPA and HESI scores only but I was wondering if anybody knew more details. For example, does GPA rank higher over HESI scores? I am so nervous! Does anybody know any prior nursing students that got accepted with a high B on the HESI? I am so nervous :(

I just checked evolve and it says the HESI average score was a 85. I am wondering if this is overall or just the group I took my test with. Does everybody else have the same class average? (Just log into evolve and click on HESI, and it should say the class average next to your score.) Also since we took a personality and learning style quiz I wonder if that will help determine who gets accepted also.

Jgaw the average is for everyone who took Hesi for this app period.

Just turned in my application and now the waiting begins!! Application deadline is in a few days and i feel that we have a good group here that is all capable of getting accepted. Heres hoping that TCC accepts 100+ like last semester. :yeah:

Hi all My gpa is 3.75; I took my hesi today and scored only 84 :( Also, the average of my class was 84.

Well thats a wonderful GPA and since the HESI average is so low, you have a shot! Good luck :)
