TCC Fall 2014!!

U.S.A. Washington

Hi! I am looking for fellow classmates that are in TCC's fall quarter RN class. Anyone else receive the good news?!

I think they are going to redraw on Thursday from what it sounded like...

Well that sucks, I think they are going to be dealing with this mistake for awhile!

I think they are going to be dealing with me for a while!!

I can see your point... But consider if you had a really high weighted score and didn't get in. That's equally not fair for those students either. That's not me btw. If your weighted score is decent, then you shouldn't have much to worry about if they redo the lottery. Just playing devils advocate here :)

I agree but I do have a high waited score of 83 so thats why I thought I got in. I have gone though the scores and realize that the system did not work right. There are a lot of lower scores that got in including a 46 so I do understand where you are coming from. I was confused as to why the 46 got drawn before my 83 as well.

My point exactly! I would imagine that you should be okay if they redraw. I had a 75 and didn't get in, so I'm hoping I get lucky

The point I'm trying to make is that the lottery was still fair, it was just under the old system. Which was everyone had an equal shot it just depended on how many qualified applicants there was. (Ex: 1/400 1/200) I think the reason some lower scores (like my 64 ) got in under the old system is because there were less applicants this round so higher likelihood of getting picked. Plus it shouldn't matter the order in which they were posted/drawn.

The scores are just an increased likelihood of getting in, not a guarantee. That 93 also has a 7% chance of not getting picked.

Ps. They sent me an acceptance letter on Thursday with all the deets. So where does that leave me?

Thats understood. If its all the qualified that get an equal chance in the lottery then what is the point of your application to be weighted?

She said that they would have to rerun it, then they have to rerun it for everybody, so I am curious to see what they do. That would be a whole other issue if they did not rerun everybody and I would have a huge issue with that. I hope this all works out for everybody. I am just going to cross my fingers and hope for the best. I also want to wish all of you the best of luck in the redraw if thats what they decide to do.

I'm just glad they admitted they made a mistake now it's all about how they handle it from now on.

It's great they admitted there was a glitch. Word would have gotten out eventually had they not come forward. I did not get in and have a decent, above average, weighted score. I feel for those who were told they got in, BUT then again, it wasn't under fair proceedings. I would only hope they rerun it and everyone is included. Why wouldn't we all be included this second time around? We have ALL come this far and deserve a fair shot. Back to fingers and toes crossed with a tummy ache again... :)
