Hello,
I'm applying to the fall nursing program in January. I'm super excited but I still have some unanswered questions. I tried calling the Nursing Dept at the South Campus and left a message but have not heard a response.
I'm trying to find out what teas version they are testing with in the spring for fall entry. I have read tons of threads from TCC for the past few semesters and it is nice to start a new one for nursing hopefuls like me.
I'm taking Micro in the fall and getting a math class knocked out for BSN. Anyway, hope to get some responses.
Well by the look of her letter......It says the application could not be accepted because her A&P's are in progress and so they could not accept it a this time, and to re-apply for Spring 20112. But it does say that the "application procedure was not completed by the designated date of February 28, 2011" So I'm thinking that they only send out letters first to those whose applications were not even considered. But they do not have a chance to turn in anything else because it is past the end date for having everything in. I think just the people who were missing a class, or vaccination, or something like that, are notified early. But I think everyone else who did turn in everything and their applications are considered, have to wait until May (or hopefully earlier) to see if they made the top 100 or not.
Last semester, someone received a rejection letter on or around October 22nd, and acceptance letters were received starting November 10th (19 days later). I received the same type of "incomplete" letter from TCC due to the miscommunication on my math placement exam, but for the life of me can't remember when it came. I know it was after the first part of October because I'd already attended Orientation for WC by the time it arrived. Maybe we'll only be waiting a few more weeks for our letters to arrive!!
Do they send out all of the rejection letters before the acceptance letters go out (giving those students an opportunity to fix any mistakes made or supply the department with missing documentation that caused them to be rejected), and then send out acceptance letters a few weeks later? I'm so confused!!! I thought all letters went out at the same time.Aaaannnnndddd.... if rejection letters do go out before acceptance letters, then as long as none of us get a letter in the mail in the next few days.... maybe that is good news for us!!!!!!
I'm thinking they sort out the applications first to make sure that the people that they select to be in their Data base meet all the requirements and then start sending out the letters for those who did not meet the requirements. Once you submit the application, i don't think you can fix your mistakes in that same application Period. You will have to wait for the next time around, but i could be wrong.

I meant more along the lines of if the Nursing Department had overlooked something (say a student has two transcripts from two different schools, but only the classes from one transcript were accounted for by the staff), that they would be given a chance to prove that they were indeed eligible to apply. I would like to think that if they made a mistake on my file (knowing that I have all my i's dotted and my t's crossed), that I would be given the chance to show them that they'd made a mistake.

I am not sure what they would do in this case, but it would definitely be fair if they allowed someone to prove that the mistake was not the student but theirs. At Dreamer, I am sure you have everything in order . I too get that feeling that maybe i had forgotten something important even though i had double checked my application like a hundred times before submitting it. I pray we all get in.....:)
So I applied for the fall 2011 semester as well. I am nervous because of my overall GPA for their requirements. I have a 4.0 in my sciences but only a 3.2 in all classes. My TEAS test scores are pretty good. 97.5 in reading, 91.1 in math, 83.3 in science, and 85.5 in english, with and Adjusted Ind. Total score of 88.8 and National Percent ranking of 97. Also I am re-taking a&p 1 because it just expired. Bev said that if it just expired it may still be ok, but I"m still most worried about that! Just wanted to post and share my nervous feelings with others who are just as nervous:)
Hey, have you heard anything from TCC? Someone just got a rejection letter for not having their A&P's completed. I know that you have yours completed but it just expired. If you don't happen to receive anything the next few days, you might have more piece of mind knowing that your application is still considered. Just a thought :)
