Tarrant County College Spring 2014

U.S.A. Texas

I haven't found a thread for Spring 2014 TCC nursing applicants, so I thought I would start one! I still have 2 more classes to complete before I can officially apply. I have an A in A&P I, and hope to have an A in A&PII this semester. I scored 92.5 on my HESI, but I might re-take it.

Who else is applying and what does everyone else have?? :)

I am applying for spring 2014. I have a 4.0 science GPA and a 92.5 on my hesi...I hope that's good enough. What do y'all think?

Kcoleman, You can still get in with those scores! Those are great scores! Last spring 2012 people got in with 3.5 GPA! So you have a good chance. If you don't get in, my advice would be to work one if not both B's.

I just got my flu, round 1 of Hep-A, round 2 of MMR, had my TB skin test and had my titers drawn for varicella. I had my Hep-B vaccine years ago, and my Tdap is recent too.

I'm worried about not being accepted because of my Hep-A not being completed. :cry: every time I call up there, I get a different answer. I guess I can only submit my application and wait to see what they say. Is anyone else in a similar situation?

I'm wondering about the Hepatitis A situation too! It's my understanding though that they added that in July so as long as you got your 1st Hep A by the time you apply you should be good. I was told that a bunch of people had called and asked the same question but that was the answer I got.

Is the 4.0 just sciences or overall as well? I have a 4.0 in my sciences and a 3.84 overall because of a C I got in English II in 2004. I got a 92.5 on my hesi

@CodyJustice I went up there today to turn my app in. I brought a copy of my transcript with all my science grades on it and that's all she needed. Oh and the course descriptions as well. She just looked over it for awhile and then said that's all.

For everyone else, I was never able to get ahold of anyone over the phone for any definite answers but when I went to turn my app in, the lady looked it over to see if I was missing anything. My best advice would be to go up there and speak with them. Take everything if your ready to apply. She went through and checked off all my shots so that will be a straight answer when she does that for those of you who had questions about immunizations.

As to where to go: From the parking lot I went to the stairs that are kinda hidden on the left. Go down those stairs and then there are more stairs. Go down those. Cross the mini bridge over the water and go to the building on the right. Go straight down the hallway and its the last door on the left.

They were very nice and helpful. Anymore questions ill be glad to help if I can ?

@trevisam000

Thank you so much! We are going up there today to turn everything in. Thanks for the help!

@lalaworkman

I think you have a great chance.

@lwandel

In the application packet, it states that an applicant must have round one of the hep A and B done prior to applying. The rest of the Hep A and B shots must be completed before clinic.

Hope this helps

I have been studying for the HESI for about a month and a half now... I take it on Tuesday, any last minute advice??

Congrats to everyone!!

I asked about the Hep A and was told by an advisor that The hep A is new and they said it isn't really need until summer 2014 for clinicals in the peds portion, but want it done well before.

Congrats to everyone!!

It was pretty easy. I studied for less than a week and got a 92.5. Know how to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions for sure and also ratios for math. Grammar & reading seemed really simple to me. Vocabulary was my lowest score. There were words used that were not in the study guide and the way they were used is what got me. Good luck! Are you applying for spring?
