Tarrant County College has their LVN to RN fast track program up and running... It is about time, it has now been 3 years without a transition program in Ft Worth and it is almost impossible as it is to get in a program . I had heard about this a year or so ago and I knew it was a fast track for paramedics but I dont know about EMT's. HUMMMMMM. Well thank the good Lord. They take applications in Jan - Feb for information look up Tarrant County College and click on dept then nursing. WOOOOHOOOOOO this is good news for us......

Good news for LVNs and Paramedics in DFW! Now there are more options for those wanting to continue their education.

Yeah, I talked to a lady at TCC South about this program and she told me a couple of things....1st it starts Summer 1 and there you take a bunch of tests to see if in fact you can move forward..(if you do not pass you must start the fall with the regular students at the beginning) then Summer 2 is Mental Health. Then Fall you transititon into regular class with the other students. A&P1 and 2 must be within 5 years...and you do apply between Jan - Feb. I think it sounds like a good program.

How long of a program is it? What are the prereq's? That's great news, I graduate next March to be an LVN and I want to get started towards my RN soon after.

If you pass the tests then it's June to May...As far as the pre-reqs I'm not sure but the website for TCC shows them. I hope that helps...
