TAMUCC eLine Program

Published

Hello,

I'm new here and was just wondering if there are any current or recent grades from TAMUCC's eLine Program. I will be wrapping up my pre-reqs during the summer and applying to the eLine program in August to hopefully start Fall 2016.

Any advice out there on the program such as:

*Likes/Dislikes

*Course Complexity

*Clinicals (extremely interested on how clinicals worked out if you are in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Area)

*How long did it take to complete the program with pre-reqs or without?

*Do you know anything about the program requirements or how many students are accepted?

Thanks!

Thanks so much for this info. It's disheartening to know that you can come this far only to be set back by something that is out of your hands. I was contacted today to do an interview on Wednesday (applied for Fall 2016) and I'm pretty excited about that, however, this kind of situation makes me nervous.

Please keep us posted on how everything goes.

Thanks so much for your activity on this post. All of your information has been extremely useful.

Fall 2016 Hopeful,

That's the thing, it's not out of my hands. I intend to take this fully in my responsibility from now on. I'm going to research sites for clinical and then send the information to our clinical placement coordinator so that she can fill out a preceptor agreement. It is just so irritating that I need to do a job that I pay a lot money for someone to take care of for me.

Please don't be nervous about it. Other than clinical placement, the program itself is not that bad. I just want you to be aware of everything possible going in so that you may prepare for things like this.

Anyway, @NurseRae78 & @madisongrinn, congrats and you will do great as long as you are yourself. Getting an interview is a great sign. I'm pretty sure a lot of people do not get this opportunity.

Hi madisongrinn,

I've also been contacted for a webex interview. My interview is scheduled for this Wednesday (4/6). I'm in the North Fort Worth area, what about you?

Good Luck on your interview!

I am so sorry that this has happened. I have always heard the hardest part of this program is clinical placement in our area. I will definitely keep that in mind and be overly cautious when it comes to clinicals. I will most likely be so nervous I take matters into my own hands and send info to the placement coordinator when clinicals come around.

NurseRae78, my interview is Thursday 4/7 at 10am! I'm very excited but nervous. Rumor has it that as long as you don't screw up the interview and writing portion you have a good chance of acceptance. I'm about 40 miles south of Dallas in Waxahachie. My aunt and in-laws live throughout Fort Worth and HEB so I know the area! I have a thread going for Fall 2016 applicants if you want to post there as well; a couple others have gotten interviews and we are keeping in contact on that thread.

@smashfully

I'm just curious what stats class did you take? 1342 or 1442?

I took mine at DCCCD. The only two classes I took at TAMUCC prior to starting nursing school at TAMUCC were Health Alterations and Pharmacology. Looking at this page -----> Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) - eLine - Texas A&M University Corpus Christi - the Island University ----- it looks like they want you to take MATH 1442.

Do you know which one you took though? My college only offered 1342, and it appears as though it would transfer (as it does for many public colleges)

I honestly don't remember. I took it in 2013 and cannot find my transcript at the moment. I think the main thing to look at is that it is Statistics for Life. You can always contact someone at the school to see if they can give you any information about the class transferring.

Hello!

I'm new to this thread & I read all the pages and am very interested in this program! I just wanted to know if any of you are currently active duty? I'm actually going to be leaving for BMT soon & I have nearly all the prereqs so after that I plan on finishing those. My job in the military is a combat medic & I would like to know how much of those credits from AIT will translate to the BSN program?

Also, congrats to all of you going through the program & those of you getting your interviews!!!!

smashfully,

im taking health alterations this summer via TAMUCC, and pharmacology this fall? Can you tell me if these classes are tough and any suggestions on being successful. I am applying for Spring 2017 entry.

It's been like 2 years since I've taken them, so I can't really remember exactly how them were. The only thing I can remember is that I had John Addison for Health Alterations and he was awesome! I would highly recommend him if you can get him. For Pharmacology, just read the book and study I suppose. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need to know anything else and I will try to help.

Hi @smashfully.

I have a few questions....

For the clinicals, how many days a week is it?

Also, is it possible to be a student and work a full time job (like three twelves a week)?? Or do you recommend not working?

And one last question... how long is the program? I have seen on the website it is two years right? But I am pretty sure I have also read that some people have finished early like by a semester or so.... is that even possible.

Thanks!!
