I'm new here and was just wondering if there are any current or recent grades from TAMUCC's eLine Program. I will be wrapping up my pre-reqs during the summer and applying to the eLine program in August to hopefully start Fall 2016.
Any advice out there on the program such as:
*Likes/Dislikes
*Course Complexity
*Clinicals (extremely interested on how clinicals worked out if you are in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Area)
*How long did it take to complete the program with pre-reqs or without?
*Do you know anything about the program requirements or how many students are accepted?
I got an email about a prospective clinical site in Fort Worth. I live in the Ponder/Denton area. The hospital still hasn't got back to me about taking me on yet though, so not for sure if I will be going there or not. The school also contacted a hospital in Gainesville, but they haven't responded. I'm not really sure how scheduling works yet, but I'm pretty sure you just can't exceed 24 hours a week. No more than 2 consecutive days in a row. I think scheduling is between you and your preceptor.
The program is challenging in the sense you would think a nursing program should be, but the professors are very helpful and will accommodate if needed to certain situations. They respond to their emails pretty quickly, but if there is a more time sensitive problem you can text them.
Not a problem. I know what you mean. I couldn't find a lot about it before I was accepted. I've found out a lot of what I know from just being in the program. I'm trying to inform others about it as best I can when I receive information.
Hey @smashfully - I'm starting 3rd semester in a week and I live in Fort Worth. How's everything going for you so far? I'm curious if you were told your clinical site was at Harris in downtown FW and if you'd had any luck. Nice to meet you tho!
Well, the person at Harris is out until Monday so I wouldn't plan on anything till next week earliest. With the semester ended and another beginning I don't want to wait too long before I am starting! Will these be your clinicals for Funds?
No, I actually started at Rose State up in OKC and transferred to them when I found out they had the eline military program. It put me back some, but I justified it as being ahead because when I graduate I'm not having to do an ADN to BSN.
Clinicals are pretty fun. Maybe I'll see you there lol. Let me know if you need any help with those lovely 40 page care plans :)
