The five ideal criteria are:

  • GPA (last 60 hours): 3.5 and above
  • Science GPA: 3.25 and above
  • HESI A2 Composite: 83 and above
  • HESI A2 Critical Thinking: 850 and above
  • HESI A2 Readings: 86 and above

Aha! Gotcha.

Stay positive! 4/5 of the criteria is still really good. I've known a number of people who met 3/5 criteria in the fall semester and still got in because of high HESI scores!! Are you applying for Eline or traditional face to face?

Really?? I feel like every semester gets more and more difficult to get in. Face to face, what about you?

Yes, I know a couple of people that have gotten in without having all 5 criteria!! So hopefully we get in too! I also applied for face to face.

Yes, I think that is the case as well. I feel like a lot of people are really qualified and that could be why it’s taking so long. I also feel like a lot more people applied this time around too. Guys, I decided to go over my application for the ten millionth time and of course right before decisions are made I saw that I made a mistake????. On the nursing cas application under the supporting documentation field I thought it was asking how many hours PER week I work at my job, which is at an ortho clinic. I put I work 20 hours for 1 week. I didn’t realize it was actually asking how many weeks total you have worked and I’ve been there for 3 years so I actually worked 152 weeks for a total 3,000 hours. I feel like such an idiot. I was totally misinterpreting the question. I thought it was asking how many hours PER week you work.?????????

Dude my anxiety is like through the roof right now after finding this mistake.

OMG! I see what you mean! I checked on mine and I also did that mistake! HAHA. Well, the way the application was set up ? it just appears different after submission. See this is what I see on mine right now...

Experience Dates: 09-20-2017/ Current

Status: Full-time
Hours per Week: 40

Total Weeks: 20

Total Hours: 80

I'm pretty sure it makes sense to them that I work full time 40 hours per week and currently still working there. Is that what you mean?

Yes girl!! I’m hoping that they don’t actually think I only worked one week for 20 hours for the whole 3 years I worked there??????????????? I put:

Experience dates- from 2016 to current

Hours per week-20

Total weeks- 1

Total hours- 20

?????????????

I feel like you did yours right girl!!

I'm sorry I typed that wrong, but I mean to put that in total weeks I have a 2 not 20. My only concern now is the GPA score reflected on the application. That is not near the cumulative GPA I currently have. When I had my advising session I was given my actual GPA and science GPA. I wonder what GPA they use, like the one on the application or the one the advisors have?!

Does anyone know?

Mostly likely to be accepted you have to meet or exceed these stats:

Overrall GPA (Last 60 hours): 3.5

Science GPA: 3.25

Hesi Composite score: 83

Hesi Reading: 86

Hesi Critical Thinking: 850

Really nervous because I met/exceed all except critical thinking :(

So 4/5 criteria is probably going to bump me down.

I only have 4 out of 5 too

Are you talking about the gpa that nursing cas has calculated? I know that they do not go off of the gpa that nursing cas has calculated. Nursing cas factors in all your grades. I honestly don’t even know why nursing cas has to give us a gpa. It’s not even accurate for the schools I’ve applied to!!

I emailed Amanda to see if there was a small chance we could edit our application. We cannot. ??????????????

Omg Faith you're funny. It's going to be ok. We will get in. Anybody from San Antonio here? Just asking so we can help each other with clinical placement.
