Tampa area hourly rate ?

U.S.A. Florida

Hello. I'm planning on relocating to the Tampa area and wanted to know how much I could expect to make with 5.5 years of experience? I'm just trying to get a ballpark idea before I interview. Thank you.

Specializes in Critical Care.

$19.50 with a differential paid in sunshine

Specializes in ICU.

For an RN in Tampa with that amount of experience, expect around $25 an hour, possibly more, depending on the hospital :)

Thank you ICUNole. I read a post from 3 years ago that said they were offered a little less than. 24.50 so I felt 19.50 was not accurate. I know they have set pay scales , but l'll see what I can negotiate

Specializes in VA, Ortho, Med/Surg.

Your kids must play hockey...Oldsmar? Mine are there.

Don't listen to the $19.50, lol. I'm a new grad in Tampa (well, 6 months of experience now) and my base is $26.83. People love to hate on the pay in the area for whatever reason. Some hospitals pay better than others, but experienced nurses on my floor are making over $30 an hour base.

wow, that's a bit higher than what I'm making as a new grad. Do you mind if I ask which hospital you're at?

I'll pm you :)

Edit- will have to do it tomorrow when I get home, can't figure out how on my phone. lol.
