Has anyone applied or interested in this school?

Hello

I am applying for the Spring 2011 program at TCC. I took the HESI A2 for the first time on Friday but need to take it again to actually be competitive. I am also applying to a technical college in Thomasville, GA. But of course, my first choice is TCC. I eagerly await submitting my application next month but my focus now is to improve my HESI. I will be taking MCB 2004 and 2004 L this Fall just to get a step ahead.

Did you take the HESI yet?

HELLO!

Yes, I also took the HESI twice! The first time, I didn't really take as much time and kinda rushed through some of the reading comprehension part, and the second time I did much better :) Whats the name of the Tech. College in Thomasville? I am also taking Micro this fall! What days/Time are you taking it? Did you get the Hesi study guide? I think that helped me a lot on the exam. I am hoping that I get in this Spring too!! As soon as my Hesi scores post to the website I am going to apply. My GPA is not spectacular--But I am hopeful!! So glad there is someone else on here that is thinking of TCC!

I had the Evolve study guide that I bought from the bookstore. I really do believe that helped me. I did my worst on the Reading Comp....I thought too much into it, I scored an 80 :( I got a 98 on grammar and an 88 on vocabulary. I got a 90 on Math. The name of the tech school in THomasville is Southwest Georgia Technical College and they are so nice. I am also considering applying for North Florida Community College in Madison but my two encounters with them have not been satisfactory. That makes me nervous considering it would be a 2 year committment with the school in addition to the 50 minute drive each way. The Thomasville school requires A & P on the HESI, which I did the worst on. I did pass, I got a 76, but need to get that WAY up. I went to Barnes and Noble and got cliff notes for A&P so I am excited to see how that improves my score. I also purchased a little book by Kaplan called Math for nurses. Hopefully this will help me get my Math score up, which will help get my overall cumulative score up. It is so helpful being able to take the test twice, now I know exactly what I need to work on. I am taking *********'s MW 530-645 class and his Wednesday evening lab.

I am taking the same M-W class! Did you take A & P 2, this summer? We may have had a class together! Yea, I will have to look into that Tech. school is GA. Tech school is just so expensive somtimes. I have also applied to the Pensacola State College for the Spring--although TCC would be my frist choice! Your Hesi scores are very good! Reading Comp. was my lowest score as well. I think I just read to much into it and tried to speed through it. I think the frist time around it was more my Nerves that got me.. the second time I felt more relaxed! I am sorry you had to take the A&P section--that had to be killer! I glanced at it in the study guide and was just very very happy I didn't have to take that section! As far as the math--did you use the onscreen calculator?? That helepd me--because I kept checking my answers! Also, I made flash cards for all the conversions and the Roman Numerals! That helped me alot because I really did not know that stuff solidly going into the exam. Good Luck with your re-take I am sure you are going to do amazingly!!

I took A & P II in Spring 2010 with ******. This summer I took Medical Terminology and College Algebra. What was your second HESI score cumulative? How much time did you wait to take it between the first and second time? Are you in the lab class on Wednesday evenings as well?

Oh, I love her!! She was such a wonderful A&P 2 teacher!! I wish she had taught the lab!! The first time I took it I had Cumulative 91.75 then I took it literally a week later and got a 93.33.. So not a huge Jump, But I did end up making above 90 on each section--so that made me happy enough. I studied for it, for like 2 months straight before I took it, so I knew if I studied anymore after the first one--it would just make a little crazy. So I went for it a week later, and just took my time and tried my best to really concentrate on the reading passages and what the questions were really asking. My Reading Comp. went from a 86 to a 91--so I was pleased. I am not taking the Wednesday night Lab, because I could'nt get into the class.. so I have it on Tuesday at 7:30. I am excited and hope it is going to be a good class!!
