Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Anyone here planning to apply to Tallahassee Community College's RN program beginning Fall 2016? I have finished all pre-req's, but have not taken the HESI. Anybody that has taken the HESI, how was it?!

I thought we had to apply in May O.o

Deadline is may. I have completed all my stuff so I just applied :cyclops: I hope that was okay. I'll email Neisa and check??

Yeah I plan to apply next week after I talk to the advisor. Was the application all online?

Yes. Very easy. Odd. Click nursing. Click fall. Submit. I thought there would be more to it

Oh wow, I was thinking it would be way more complicated than that. Do you have your CPR and basic life support certification done? Mine expired a few months ago so I to have to find somewhere up here to renew it. I figure I might as well get it done soon so that there will be one less thing to worry about later.

I spoke to an advisor today and he said that we need to have "Chemistry for Allied Health" as a pre-req. I am now confused because there is no chemistry pre-req requirement on the webpage. I am hoping he is wrong, but he said they have not updated the website yet. He told me to go back tomorrow to speak with the healthcare advisor Mrs. Farley. Have you guys already taken that class or know if this is correct info?

Hey! I spoke with Neisa Farley last year before I got pregnant (which is another reason why I waited a year) she said it would be helpful to have that chemistry class, HOWEVER, if you are wanted to pursue a BSN. Which most of us will, it's better to take chm 1045 which is the actual college chemistry. If they switch it now that's BS. bit ask Neisa she is super sweet and helpful.

Okay, I thought he didn't know what he was talking about. But I haven't taken any chemistry class yet, I was not planning on taking one until I apply for my BSN. So you think I can still apply now without having the chemistry? This guy had me freaking out lol, but I'm still going to talk to Neisa.

Hey girls! I know its been a few months..I am trying to get my 1st grader finished up in school and my little one is now 6 months crawling everywhere.. Did either of you talk to Neisa? I emailed her today. Just waiting for a response.

Yes I talked to Neisa, she said chemistry is not required for the ASN, only the BSN. One of my friends that applied took the HESI 2 weeks ago and the testing proctor gave her the wrong information too. He told everyone that only 20 people get into the program and that you have to get at least a 98% on the HESI for the school to even consider letting you into the program. I wish that all the faculty and advisor's knew the correct information or just don't tell students anything about the program if they don't know!!!

Ahh I know how exciting and stressful that is with the baby crawling everywhere, my best friend has a one year old and is pregnant with her second now! She can't turn her back on him for one second, or he will get into everything!

Wow ... I am out the loop I have no idea who Neisa is I've been speaking to someone named Diane ... I took my Hesi at another school and they forwarded it I got a 91 overall a 90 in English a 92 in math ... My prereq gpa should be good and my points should be high ... If TCC will post my transcripts online for the school of nursing to have access to. I didn't know that hand received them so I hand delivered them on the 6th. So hopefully they have everything on file. I hold my bachelors already and gave taken org Chem for nursing students also. So I'm remaining optimistic. I have no idea how to work passport but if they send any confirmation of receiving your application please let me know !

They don't send a confirmation about receiving the application, I thought it was weird and asked if I would get some sort of confirmation. Neisa said that when you hit submit online it just says a generic Thanks your application has been submitted.
