Nursing Students NCLEX

I am having a hard time answering Kaplan Qbanks. I am also losing my hopes for passing because I keep getting low scores (highest is 60%)... I had study NCLEX RN Saunders book (yellow 3rd edition), Kaplan strategy book and Saunders/Hesi for NCLEX RN ONLINE review. I also answered La Charity, Saunders Nclex RN Q&A, and now KAPLAN QBANK.

Im overwhelmed with what Ill be doing on my last few days before I take the exam.

any tips? pleasseeeeee.

Im feeling the same way that I dont even know where to begin! I took hurst live review, bought Saunders review, Saunders q n a, lippincott q n a, PDA, and some other used kaplan review book, and now I found those free online kaplan qbanks and im wondering if they are the same as the ones you would buy on their website? its like $50 for one month..?

I found Kaplan QTrainers on Quizlet and I compared it to the QTrainers from Kaplan account and they are different but I ONLY compared QTrainer 1.

Hi, i plan to take nvlex for the third time, please guide me on what steps should i make? I applied via vermont twice. Can i apply through vermont or ncsbn? Please

Thanks! I appreciate it!

Hi, mr. e, what other resources have you used to study? and how long did you study before each test?

Specializes in Critical Care.

Just remember, some people are not good test takers but that isn't to say that they are lacking in their nursing skills. I have seen numerous nurses who had trouble on test but are spectacular nurses. I actually took my test after a bit of a cocktail. It helped to calm my nerves. Looking back, the picture even shows my condition, but hey 75Q later and I was headed home.

Sorry,I'm not trying to disappointing you, but those general questions(For example: give you a name of disease and asking you what is the meaning) may not be a good sign...If you had only answered 78Q and passed, you shouldn't see those type of questions. Not sure what was your last question, but your last question should be above passing standard, something like evaluating, delegating, who to see first, or any analysis questions. I just recently passed my Nclex (75Q) last week. I had over 25 SATA and my last Q was evaluating client's statement for discharge. Anyway, good luck to you and I hope you pass.

I kind of what to debunk this. Doesn't matter what type of questions they are. Just answer the questions individually the best you can. I only got 5-6 SATA and passed with 75. I event got simple "content" questions and that freaked out about it 'cause I thought I was failing. So whoever is reading this, THE NUMBER OF SATA DOES NOT MATTER! Answer ALL questions the best you can like your life depended on it, ha.

I took mine in Columbia, SC on the same day! I paid for early results and I passed.

You have to go in with positive thoughts. It sounds like you've already decided that you are going to fail. I took Kaplan during my transitions class, we had an instructor from Kaplan come in and she taught us a lot in 4 days but it helped.

Just answering questions won't help unless you understand why you got it wrong or right. Stick to one book and learn about the disease. Try flash cards. If you write them use different colors to distinguish between S&S, tx, etc. The NCLEX is about critical thinking. What's the priority! If you walk into a patients room and you can do only one thing to help the patient right here and right now what do you do?

It was a difficult test for sure. All through school we were taught brand names instead of generic names for medications. We also didn't used SATA questions. And it was heavy with both, but the lady from Kaplan told us to prepare for them.

I can send you the notes she emailed us from the class if you would like. [email protected]

I used hurst live review and PDA by la charity. I am happy I used lacharity workbook since I had tons of prioritizing questions and about 8 SATA. I believe in having a strong base is the key such as in knowing your core content. I had about 7 drug/pharm questions and honestly I just gave them my best guess and ended up passing last week with 75 questions..dont give up just take your time to know your core content. I also when to my medsurg textbook when hurst provided very limited info about a certain topic.
