Taking PAX-RN today at college of Dupage anyone else?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Sorry for the late post. But is anyone else taking the Pax today? I'm starting to feel the crunch !

Oh gee, so I would have had a nice shot at being admitted last year:uhoh3:

According to the COD website, the "offering of this program and its schedule is being evaluated and alternatives may be considered." I am not sure what that means, but it doesn't sound good to me.

Maureen still talked highly about the lpn program and how lpn students had an easier time to get into the rn program.

I may apply but I really a can't afford to go that route and b they don't have many job prospects for lpn. I need to find a job asap in order to get going paying my school loans.

Man I wish I knew what they wanted and found out via email like jjc does.

Guess these next few weeks are going tO be torture.

Have you used your CNA license yet? Like for a job? Or you not working right now?

Did you start school yet?

What do you mean, you wish you knew what they wanted? I guess I don't understand. I thought we're all aiming for high GPAs, PAX score percentiles above 67% in all 3 areas, and 8 completed classes.

What does JJC send out via e-mail?

Like the scores. What range are they taking? Or if there is a range. They could use the score sheet to evaluate your app but may just look at PAx or your gpa. You know what I mean?

Jjc sends acceptance via email.

I assumed they would just follow the rank/score sheet. Admissions should tally our points, rank us, and send out offers to the top 117 students. It never occurred to me that they would just use PAX and GPA. I would think COD would open themselves up to lawsuits if they did not follow their own admissions policy.

Maybe I assume too much, but I figured that the range of GPAs and PAX scores would not be available until they determine who the top 117 students are...?

I don't know about lawsuits. The only thing I know for sure is that I don't know how it works. So im leaving it up to them.

I am pretty certain that I know how it works...we use the rubric provided on the nursing admissions website and calculate our points. The top 117 people will receive an offer of provisional admission. Am I missing something? I'm not trying to be difficult but I guess I just don't understand.

Re: the lawsuits. e.g. if an in-district applicant has say, the max # of points of 27.5 and meets all requirements and is passed over in favor of someone with say, 21 points, then that could present a problem

Ok. Just good luck to us.

For the CNA course did you use the 10th edition or a prior book. The new ones are real expensive.
