Taking nlex-rn on Sept 29th!

Published

I just received my ATT today and scheduled fog sept 29th. I am currently using virtual ATI live review and using Kaplan and Saunders review books. I am desperate for tips from any of you out there that have passed! Do you guys think Kaplan or saunders questions were most like the actual Nclex questions? I don't want to waste my time with both if one is better than the other! All your advice is greatly appreciated! I am freaking out I am sooo nervous.!!

Don't freak out girl as hard as that seems practice deep breathing when anxiety arises. I am using Kaplan and Saunders. Saunders is great for the review of content but the questions are a little easy. Kaplan is good for practicing critical thinking and the questions are more similar to NCLEX. You never know what you are going to get on NCLEX so if possible use both. Hope this helps.

I just took NCLEX RN on 9/7. I think Kaplan was a great addition to our education. There is also

a 35 page study guide floating around here somewhere. It was awesome! Dont over-do it.

Good luck

Hey there. I just passed my NCLEX yesterday (good pop up). Saunders are the best for content and if you have time to read all of them, great, if not, don't worry about it (read the endocrine chapter and know them really well). However their questions are way too easy and they're nothing like the NCLEX format. On the other hand, Kaplan Qbanks/Qtrainers are great for practice/critical thinking/strategy but poor content. That is why I failed the first time around using solely Kaplan. You still have roughly 3 wks and I STRONGLY suggest you getting the 3 week course of NCSBN. It is only $50. Read my previous post about it. But to sum it up, NCSBN was the closest thing to the real NCLEX-RN. Hands down. I've never heard 1 bad things about NCSBN in this website. Their contents can be little overwhelming so I only read the 'Points to Remember' on each section of the course and did the questions only. Oh, and I downloaded scribd notes from this website as well and I often went back (ctrl + F to search what I was looking for) for content and also to learn key things to remember on that content. KNOW YOUR INFECTION CONTROL. I cannot stress that enough lol. 'my chicken hez TB' 'SPIDERMAN' 'MRS.WEE' 'VCHIPS' etc. Wish you the best. :)

Kaplan was the most similar in terms of question structure by far. When I was taking the exam I felt like I was just doing one of their Test trainers/Q-bank tests. It made me really comfortable.

Thanks for the tips everyone! I just keep practicing and praying that I will get through this the first time around! I've kind of looked around for the review that's on here but haven't come across it yet if any of you know where I can ind it I'd appreciate it! Thanks again!
