taking nclex in 1 week!! any suggestions for last minute reviewing

Published

Hi everyone,

people usually say we have to do a certain amount of questions to do well on the nclex. is this True? Do u know approximately how many questions i have to do in order to pass?

Is it really important to know all the Meds inside out because i dont remember a lot of them.

I cant believe my test is in a week and i have done at least maybe 1500 or more questions so far.. but i'm not sure if i am yet confident or ready to take the exam. I'm just really nervous!! HELP!!

Hi Angel,

I will pray for you also. Hard work and preparation pays of so stay positive!

Nursemich, are you ready for tomorrow?? i am sooo nervous again, but im having faith in God. ill be praying that we pass! u know i just a Kaplan 265 ques test and got 60% on it. ugh. i hope i feel better tomorrow. I know people say we shouldnt study the day before the test, but its really hard not to!

I TOOK THE NCLEX TODAY AND IT STOPPED AT 75. im so scared.... it was really hard.. i think i failed.... is it common to FAIL at 75 questions? could i have done that bad...

Most people think they have failed. Strongly suggest you relax and wait for your results.

hi faithangel, i have taken the exam, and also like you, i stopped at 75!. i really wished it would stop at 75. when it did, i trembled and cried... feeling that i passed but after a while when i reflect backed on the questions that i have chosen, i felt that i got them all wrong. but i keep the faith that i have passed. goodluck to us!:)

I have also heard that Kaplan Trainer is much like the NCLEX. I have been told if you get at least 60%-65% on the Kaplan Trainer it is a good sign that you will do well on the NCLEX.

My suggestions for anyone would be to relax with some stress candles and oils from bath and body works and contine to do questions.

I think 50-100+ questions per day is really great!!

You can do it!!

Hi everyone, thank you so much for encouraging me. I passed!! Let me tell you, it was a hard test even from the beginning, but i feel like if i can pass, anyone can pass! thanks for all those kinds words and TIPS i really appreciate it. Good luck to everyone who is waiting for the results or taking the exam.

I take my test on Thursday...I can tell you then. :^)

I've lost track of the number of questions I've done, over 6,000 I'm sure. But, realistically, studying for 3 months may sound impressive in terms of discipline and coverage - but in terms of memory recall, I can't guarantee I will remember the first 3,000 I did.

I thought the first 3,000 with Mosby's gave a great foundation. I attribute that plus studying the Hesi to passing Hesi. Subsequent questions are there to maintain the pace of at least 100 questions a day as we were told to do until my test date arrived. Our reviewer told us to do a minimum of 3,000 questions and if in doubt, 5,000, using 3 sources (one should be a review book not questions).

I'm going to review delegation, triage, priority, meds, labs, and then fast facts on OB, Peds, and Psych these next 3 days.

And pray. I have done all I can do and the rest is up to God and the Plan that is over my life. Right?

Good luck to both of us. Ugh. Either way, as soon as I walk out of that test center, I'm playing with my kids and not studying all weekend. THAT is incentive enough to get through this week after the relentless studying I've done. I refuse to study until I know that I failed.
