Hi everyone,
people usually say we have to do a certain amount of questions to do well on the nclex. is this True? Do u know approximately how many questions i have to do in order to pass?
Is it really important to know all the Meds inside out because i dont remember a lot of them.
I cant believe my test is in a week and i have done at least maybe 1500 or more questions so far.. but i'm not sure if i am yet confident or ready to take the exam. I'm just really nervous!! HELP!!

how long have you been studying?
if you have been dedicating yourself to this then you are ready.
how have you been studying?
did you take a prep program?
if you have to know within you if are ready to challenge this. only you can answer yourself that question, no one else can.
you inside have to believe that you will be able to go in there and face it 1:1.
my advise is you have a week so keep practicing those questions and make sure you read and understand those rationales. which ever question you answered wrong, go back to the review book and read over that section again and also just make a little note to the side of the section and write the rationale and compare it to the reading and you will understand why you should of answered it right.
you must have confidence and be calm going into the center. because if your nerves and anxiety get in the way....it really is going to take over you while answering those questions.
another advice is pray, prayer and talking with our heavenly father does help.
best of luck to you!

Hi, thank you Windy Hill and NurseGreenEyes.
I just graduated in end of MAY. I took Kaplan Review class and it just ended last wednesday. i liked the course and found it helpful. i did 90 percent of their Qbank which is about 1200 questions and did 5 of their question trainer 75 to 150 ques. i think i maybe did about 2000 questions if that so far.. i'm praying that i pass. and i started to study from the second week of June... but i only do about 50-100 questions a day.. but right now i'm planning on doing 200 until i get to the test day. ugh.. reviewing over the rationales takes me like 2-3 hrs extra because i seem to get 20 wrong and 29 correct out of 50 Kaplan Questions.
Another question, i have so much review books Suanders and Mosby and NCLEX CDs... but i just stuck to Kaplan.. Should I use the Suanders book too? i feel like i dont have much time to review materials other than just do the Practice questions.. ugh..
I feel like the NCLEX-RN is just by "luck of the draw", you never know what type of questions u get.. some gets peds ques and some doesn't.. it's just really random.
How many hours a day should we spend on NCLEX review b/c i spend all day on it without watching tv or nothing.. but i do get distracted to go online since im always on my laptop doing these nclex questions =/.
thanks again for your advice!! I'm praying for everyone to pass the NCLEX..

hi we are on the same boat. im going to take nclex next week and thats on friday, aug.1 to be exact. yeah im feeling nervous and anxious :monkeydance:but i tried not to be, i always stick to my plan to study specific topics on each day as well as answer 200 questions a day, well i just started to increase it from 100 since monday bec. my test will be next week. :typing
whenever i come across topics or review materials that is not on my plan, i freaked out :sstrs:and say "oh no i have to include this" "i have to study this i dont know this yet" :thnkg:but since i have already a study plan, i really tried my best to take off my mind with those materials that isn't included in my plan and stick to my study schedule instead.
weeks before the exam, i believe we have to stick only to what is common in the exam like prioritization, delegation, infection control, medications and also on our weak areas(thank you allnurses) :)i answer 100 questions in the morning and read the rationales upto 12noon, i rest for an hour. read and memorize important facts on specific topic for the day, for example today im scheduled to study infection control. take a rest again then at the end of the day i would answer another 100 questions. i'll do that until 2 days before my exam.

:wshgrt: lets attract the positive thoughts and eliminate the negative ones. whenever i wake up i thank the lord and say "i'm going to pass the nclex on aug.1.. i am making things happen" of course with the guidance of the lord. and with those thoughts and words, my whole day of reviewing is productive because of the motivation and determination i have.
i always say to myself that no one can know everything on the exam but i can do my best to succeed in this because i know that the lord is making his plans for me. and one of his plans is that i will pass the nclex.
:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat goodluck to you and i hope that what i have shared will somehow help you. btw, im using saunders for the content and also kaplan for strategies.

mark 11:24 therefore i tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
thanks nursemich, that was really inspirational. actually i am scheduled for aug 1st as well in ny.. i can't believe how soon its coming up but i always felt like maybe i'm not ready and i should change the test date but then i feel like i just want to get it over with. i am praying every day to god to help me pass on that day. i believe everything is in god's hands and he will make a way. we do what we can and the rest is to god to help us.
i am going to look at suanders review content.. but its just soo much to look at.. i wish i did what u did by starting an area to focus on.. i watched most of the kaplan review videos online as a review but not the book as much... but i am reading up on the rationales... all i do now is hope for the best and we'll make it on that day!! we will and we have to! :redpinkhe i just recently started the 100 questions a day thing and im working toward 200 starting today... hope i make it through. i get a lot of side track and easily get distracted.
okay god bless and i'll be praying for us to pass!! i hope i dont freak out and change the test date..
:flwrhrts: nursemich :flwrhrts:

hi nursegreeneyes,
thank you for sweet hearty flowers on my name.
so heres for you :flowersfoi've read some of your posts too and i can say that you are an optimist person..:up:i love how you motivate others as well. and as far as i know based on hundreds of post from those who have taken the exam, you are one of few that i know that is very relaxed while waiting for the result. :1luvu: i can see your comfort with god.
i want the confidence in you. i want more of that until the exam. of course i don't want too much because too much confidence is like having no confidence at all. hehe :chuckle
faithangel08,
:hrns&wlcm:im really amazed that we are scheduled to test on the same date. its really good to know someone here that we'll test at the same date.. i hope you won't change your date because i read from other posts that few days won't do a big difference.
its normal to feel that way and just focus.. focus focus whenever you feel distracted or take a time off then study again after you have rested, because i do most of the time. just like now i have just finished 100 questions, pretty satisfied with my result so i would reward myself for a 1 1/2 hour rest, so i logged in here..:typing i will read the rationales later.haha
i know we'll make it.:icon_hug: we are making it happen.. goodluck on your review. we can do it!:redpinkhe:roll

Hi Everyone,
I am in the same boat as Angel08 with a date to test in about a week and a half. I have access to Kaplan and have been doing questions there but my sores fluctuate. I have been doing really well with saunders cd as well as nclex 3000. I am scared because I dont know if i am doing well with saunders and nclex 3000 because the questions are easier? anybody have insight?
HI Nursing 08, i used Suanders and nclex 3000.. but i found them somewhat easier too... i think Kaplan makes their questions harder and similar to the NCLEX (i heard).. but right now i'm done with kaplan qbank and i have question trainer 6 and 7 to do and my test is this friday... i was saving those two at the end to see where i stand now. I am still nervous about my test and hope to God that we all pass this exam. I feel like i did do a lot but there are a lot of things i dont know either..
but Good luck!!we are all on the same boat..
Hi, Nursing 08...
its a really good sign that your doing well on those questions.. i usually just get about the average... its never that great with my scores.. but im still hoping and praying for a miracle.
