Hi everyone..I'm stressed out and nervous. I'm taking the exam in 3 wks. I've been listening to Helen Feuer lecture CD's and reading Kaplan strategy book & Fryes 3000 bullets to refresh my memory. I also own Davis, Mosby Saunders & Lippincott books and CD's that I sometimes use. Does anyone have any advise on what book should I stick with?.. I just feel like I'm not studying effectively.. Thanks in advance..

trust me you will never feel really prepare. what you neede to do is relax which i know it's hard to do. focuse on the meds specially their side effects, then the major disease with their signs and symptoms, plus if for example you have four different patients as lpn which one can you take of or which one will be your first priority stuff like that

i hope that help good luck.;)

I am also preparing for state boards (no date yet). I have been reviewing the material in my books that we used in class. I was told that that would be most helpful. After reveiwing one subject I pop in a disk and test myself on that subject. So far I feel pretty good about the study habit. Hope this helps and Good Luck To You!

i am graduating pn school next week so i will be taking my boards soon also... i'm pretty sure if you're grades throughout school were decent you should have no problems passing boards... put it this way... out of the last 2 pn programs only 1 out of each class failed...one was literally having a miscarriage during the test and the other barely made it through school :)

I JUST GOT MY RESULTS TODAY(TOOK THE NCLEX PN MONDAY)

AND I PASSED.:lol2: I WAS A NERVOUS WRECK WAITING BUT ITS OVER.

MY WHOLE CLASS 34 PASSED SO FAR EXCEPT FOR MAYBE 4 THAT HAVENT GONE. KIND OF AMAZED SINCE I KNOW MOST TOOK IT RIGHT AFTER GRADUATION SO NO REAL STUDYING WAS DONE.

I READ THE WHOLE EXAM CRAM, DID ALL END CHAPTER QUESTIONS AND 2 200 QUESTION TESTS. ALSO READ ANOTHER STUDY GUIDE .

MY PHarm book had a cd so i loaded it.(SHOULD HAVE DONE SO DURING SCHOOL.) THAT HELPED. IF YOU ARE GOING TO FOCUS, I WOULD MAKE IT ON MEDS. AND NORMAL TEST LIMITS(CA,NA,K+....)

THE OTHER STUFF IS SO VAGUE NO AMOUNT OF STUDYING WILL HELP.

THE STUFF IS COMPLTELEY RANDOM. YOU'LL SEE .BUT IF YOU DID WELL IN SCHOOL, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PIECE IT TOGETHER.

GOOD LUCK.

I took my test on 8/15 and answered 85 questions. I studied Saunders (both comprehensive and Q&A CD's, over 6600 questions) and answering anywhere from 350-500 questions a day. I also studied the Kaplan 2007/2008 edition prior to taking the test, which I found to be most helpful. The most important thing is to study and when you take your test, take a deep breath and use the ear plugs they give you. When I took my test, somebody had a really bad cough and even with the ear plugs, I could still hear them. Read the questions several times before you answer.

After waiting 28 days, I found out today that I passed.

It's actually CD roms, sorry. They came with the books and some of the questions are from the book, but if I had to study all over again, I think I would focus only on the CD roms because it's faster. The last 2 weeks of my review, I would sit and answer 50 questions, then take a break (get something to drink, go outside, etc.) At the end of the evening, I found that I answered anywhere from 350-500 questions. It also helped me to retain the information better. I also had hypnotherapy to help me with the anxiety of taking the test.

Thank you guys.. I've been answering review questions from my CD rom's and it's a big help. I gave up on reading the ATI testing books. I'm devoting 4-6 hrs a day of studying(answering practice questions and focusing on my weakness) and plenty of M&M's w/peanuts and redbull..:nono:
