  1. Hello everyone! I also failed NCLEX with 265 questions this month. I was sad for a few days but, life goes on. I know that I'm going to pass this exam soon. I used NCSBN, Saunders, La Charity PDA and Kaplan Q trainer 1-4. I figured if I made it to the maximum amount of questions, I was close to passing :-) I am back to studying and doing more questions. I have been working for the same company for over 5 years as an LPN and I'm just praying on passing so I can move on to bigger and better things.
  2. Hello..I graduated in July. Passed boards in October. Stayed at my current job, LTC, part-time. Currently working full-time in an ALF, Classic Residence by Hyatt as a Lead LPN. I'm 8 credits away from sending my RN program application. Hoping to start RN program by Feb 2009
  3. I can definitely say..I've been there. I graduated in July. Scheduled my board for sept. 29th, chickened out coz' I felt like I didn't study/know enough. So I rescheduled it and took it on Oct. 10. I was a nervous wreck. I was so stressed out and of corse after finishing I felt like I failed but found out within 48hrs that I passed. What your feeling is normal. You have to face your fear and think positive. 2wks prior to taking the board I used Delmar CD reviewer. I did 1000 comprehensive questions answering 250-300 questions a day and I used Kaplan strategy book. Find out your weakness and focus on it. Also know your lab values and meds. I hope this helps. Good luck!...
  4. THANK YOU ALL!!! I appreciate all the support.. I'm checking schools around my area for a weekend class for IV certification at the moment. Does anyone know a place in Miami, FL?
  5. congratulations madisent & denroc72!!! :balloons::balloons::smiley_aa:yelclap:
  6. Thanks Eric!!! Found out on Thursday..:lol2:I PASSED!!:monkeydance::monkeydance::monkeydance:
  7. I scorred around the same on my ATI and I passed the board with the minimum amount of questions-85. To be honest ATI is harder than the boards. I used Delmar & Kaplan strategy to study for the boards and I found out last Thursday that I passed. Just make sure to understand the rational when your answering questions while reviewing. You have a week so just keep answering questions. Buy some earplugs or go to the library and do 250-300 questions a day. On the day of the exam, before starting, take 3 deep breaths and smile to the computer. I know it's weird but it will take some of your nervousness away;).. Good luck. You'll do fine..I hope this helps..
  8. Thanks!.. Your right tweety..I should get it out the way now before I get very busy with work and school. I'm in Miami, FL and a lot of the LTC here doesn't really require. I'm being hired as a Lead LPN in an ALF. And still working part-time at my current job(LTC). They don't really require it. Some of my classmates work for a hospital and everytime an IV needs to be inserted. The charge nurse does it..
  9. Hey everyone.. :balloons::monkeydance:I just passed the the NCLEX on Thursday and I'm planning on getting my IV certification. Is it worth having? Do you get paid more if you have the certification? Please advise...
  10. Hello..I took the boards today. The computer stopped at 85. It took me 2hrs to finish. I'm so scared about my result. I'm staying positive and praying a lot for the next 48hrs
  11. hey all..I took the NCLEX-PN this afternoon. I was so nervous before the exam. A friend told me to take 3 deep breaths and smile at the computer before starting to calm down. I know it sounds wierd but it works.. I still feel like I didn't do well. I know it's a normal feeling to feel like I guessed a lot because some of the questions are not really thought in school/I just never heard of them. I didn't get a lot of priority questions. It was mostly infection control, 10 pharm & a few apply all questions which I hated. I'm just posting for my own sanity. Good thing I only have to wait 48hrs. I't already 2:30AM and I'm still up. Talking about worries/stress
  12. I just graduated and I'm 28yrs young:D. I started when I was 27. 1st degree was Cardiovascular Tech, never worked in the field and it took me 3 years to realized that I want to be a nurse
  13. Thanks commuter..I'll keep that in mind
  14. Thanks Scally. :idea:I never really thought of it that way. All I kept thinking about was..I'm too nervous and I don't want to fail the 1st time around..
  15. Thank you guys.. I've been answering review questions from my CD rom's and it's a big help. I gave up on reading the ATI testing books. I'm devoting 4-6 hrs a day of studying(answering practice questions and focusing on my weakness) and plenty of M&M's w/peanuts and redbull..
