  1. I was wondering is there any LVN who are MDS coordinator out there? If so, any feedback on how it is? I was looking into getting the certificate and getting a position for a MDS coordinator. My background is mostly homehealth; I've been doing the care plans for homehealth for about 8 years. I'm familiar with OASIS, doing raps, Quality Assurance and some coding. I know being a MDS coordinator has really big responsibilities; any feedback would be great!
  2. I failed like 6 times...I used hurst the first time and failed; but that was because I only did the material and videos. The second time using this; I did most of the videos and just kept doing the qreview; whatever my score was I would read it all over and the rationales. At first I was scoring at like 47% then 50% then finally 63% and 70%. All I did was practice practice practice...I passed yesterday on 9/30/13 102 questions with the good pop up.I was horrible also with picking answers but I got it finally. I was only able to study for 2 weeks; 2-4 hours a day. Don't give up! keep practicing questions. good luck!
  3. I just took the test today and got the "good pop up" I'd say its really up to you on what makes you most comfortable with your studying; I've taken the test about 6 times, I have so many different books that I never used! Majority people told me to use was Saunders but I didn't really enjoy it. What I used was Hurst review. I did the videos and the questions with tests; I felt it helped me the most and I got a good pop up today
  4. I took the Nclex today, stopped at 102 questions. I had about 15-20 SATA and a lot of priority and delegation. I did the PVT and got the "good pop up" I hope this really works! I just can't believe it because I failed a lot of times; but I never gave up! I finished nursing school 6 years ago. I was young and enjoyed having fun and I only wanted this license a little to compared as I did right now. I would say I took the test once a year. I finally grew out of my stage of having fun and decided to think over what I really wanted in life. I have to say 2013 is my year; I got married in March, had a baby in June. My motivation was my family, especially my baby girl. I was taking care of my baby while my wife was working. It was about 530am-330pm, then off to work I go. I rarely had anytime to study but I made time because I wanted it so bad. During baby naps, I would put as much study as I can for 2 weeks! I had to take my test on 9/30/2013 because that was the last day to take it or it would have expired and I would have to pay the application and test again. I would get off work at about 10pm and try to get more study time from there; I was so exhausted. Overall I would study about 4 hours a day for 2 weeks and now I finally got the "Good Pop Up". If I can pass this test; YOU CAN PASS ALSO!! Just focus your mind and put your hard studies in it. You got to want it so bad to pass and not just a little! How bad you want it will depend on how much time you put into it and how you would never give up!.
  5. Hi, I've taken the nclex many times and each time I failed I'd wait a long while till taking it again because I get so stressed out. The last time I took it I just felt like I wanted to quit, but now I have submitted my application and ready to give it one more shot. I joined a review course 3 day class and needed some advice. I feel like it's been a while and I dont even know what to study anymore, so my advice is, should I start reading whatever topics before the class, or should I just wait for the class to know the right areas to study rather than stressing myself out right now figuring out what to study and reading all over the place.
  6. Hello, I'm also from CA and took my test on May 3rd. I also had 85 questions and about 6-7 med calculation. I mostly had priority questions and teaching. Lets keep our heads up and think positive. If we did so bad we would at least have more questions than 85, not unless we REALLY bombed it right? So lets think positive!
  7. Hello, I took my test for the 2nd time and still waiting for results, for those who failed the nclex, how many questions did you get and what type of questions? Did you get a lot of Med Calculations? Priority? I got 85 my first try and my 2nd time I also got 85! I dont know if I passed or failed but I feel I did way better than my first try!
  8. Wow CONGRATS SHABANS!, I'm still waiting for my results, probably the end of May!, I also got 85 questions and I'm really not sure how I did, but anyways, what type of questions did you receive?
  9. I had a lot of priority questions, but I had about like 6-7 med calculations and a few SATA, majority I would say I had priority questions, but my last question I got wrong, does this mean I will fail?? I stopped at 85.
  10. I really hope you are right about saying that SATA, priorities etc. are good bcuz I had a lot of those and I stopped at 85...This was my second time and I took it on May 3rd. I wasn't too confident in taking it bcuz the day before I got into a huge accident on the freeway and hit my head on the steering wheel pretty hard. I wanted to re-schedule but it was too late. Well I've studied a lot for this test and I hope I will pass even though I had a huge headache that day! I had a lot of SATA and especially priorities and also Meds!!..a few fill in the blanks.
  11. I just took my test yesterday, and I feel like I just bombed it so bad! I know I got the last question wrong and I only got 85!...I had a lot of select all that apply and meds! This is my second time! The day before I just into a 5 car accident on the freeway and banged my head pretty good. I wanted to re-schedule, but it was too late so I had to take the test not feeling all too good!..I just dont feel confident enough on my test, my fill in the blank questions I feel like I just entered some random thing! AHHH I dont know!
  12. For those who passed their nclex, I'm just wondering exactly if you studied each chapter of the book in saunders? or did you just start studying certain major subjects? etc. And also if you studied the CD that came along with Saunders, did you study each part of the subjects of every section and do all the questions? Please help me with some ideas of what you did because I feel lost of what parts to study, I just feel I'm all over the place! Thanks!
  13. I'm in CA too..waiting for the long results! but hopefully I will get it soon like someone said!
  14. I took my LVN test on November 26 with 85 questions and also 15-20 select all that apply and plus some meds that were select all that apply! It was crazy! I really dont know if I passed as well! I'm hoping my results come soon and I hope I pass before christmas so that would be the best present ever!!!!!! GOOD LUCK to us!
  15. I have the EXAM CRAM, also Saunders, and KAPLAN, I also took a review course, so basically the notes from the review course was the one I studied the most, it did help a lot!..anyways I'M really hoping that I PASSED! AHHH!! well I know you will pass your next one because you have so much determination!! Good Luck! I'll keep updating if I passed or not. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET ME PASS!!
