Hi there,
I am currently enrolled in a CNA class in New Mexico. We are in clinicals and will be done with the class in 3 weeks.
I am planning on moving back to California (where I'm from) after the class is over. What I am wondering is can I take the Cali state test with my New Mexico certification class? Where do I find info. about this?
Thank you!

I took my classes in Jax.FL. and my state test also, but I knew I was gonna need to switch it over to Georgia,I was told in order to do this I would have to work for pay for at least 8 hrs,but....I called Georgias state nurse aide registry last week and she said to apply for reprocicity and they would go ahead and honor it,well in just 5 short days they added me to the Georgia registry,so I am now certified in both states! not sure how that will work for you,but you should check into it. I would take the test in New Mexico & then transfer it to California. A few in my class did the same thing too. We're in Maryland, but after we got our CNA license, one of them transferred her license in DC, one transferred it to VA & one is trying to see if it will transfer to NY b/c she is moving up there soon. Just make sure that your training in NY is eqivalent to the training in CA. Some states have longer requirement hours than others; for example if I took my CNA class in DC, I would not be able to transfer it to Maryland b/c the requirement hours is 100, but in DC its only 75 hrs. Hope that helps some ! Good luck :)
