Taking Anatomy & Physiology 1 for the first time this fall! Any suggestions???!!!!!

Looking forward to taking anatomy & physiology! Can anyone provide me with any helpful tips as to succeeding in this course? Thanks so much!

I was never really the type to "hardcore" study but I used flashcards and a whiteboard at home for the practicals. I would print out a non-filled in practical page and tape it to the board and try to label it. The flashcards were mainly for making connections for different points and how they were associated throughout the body.

Doing this got me a 98 and from what other people were saying in the class I was 1 of the few who even had an A at all

I was all about Quizlet. I made flashcards for every chapter and used the learning exercises on there to help me with the material. Hasn't let me down yet!

Take the time outside of class to really study. I read the book and did all the assigned homework and for many topics I went and found additional questions to test my knowledge, be it through the text book, quizlet, or just watching videos on Khan Academy. I bought a separate study guide of questions from the publisher just to force myself to go through more diagrams, and more questions. Plus the anatomy and physiology coloring books. Using all of these extra resources really helped me. Not all of the outside studying directly applied to what my instructor wanted us to know, but it boosted my overall knowledge of the topic and I found that useful.

You don't need to purchase extra questions or books to study from as there are a lot of free resources online, but pushing yourself to do more than what is asked for can really help you get the material down.

I know what you mean. We only have 6 passing out of 26 and only 2 As and 2 Bs out of that 6. My poor instructor feel horrible but I continuously tell him that it isn't his fault.
