Take the nclex exam in GA Georgia, but i am in Florida 2015

Published

Hello guys

here is my situation, i just took my 3rd Nclex exam in Florida and i failed. i feel sad but i know that i need to keep fighting. probably as everybody knows after the 3rd time in florida you will need to have a remedial class before you take the next time. but in the search for options, i found that in GA you can do it without the remedial. so can someone explain me the process of application/Doc/prices that i will need in order to take the Nclex in Ga???

PS: I also heard that you can do fingerprint/background check and everything else without going to Ga. Please if you have any thought about it feel free to share.

thank you for everything. :)

My first thought is that you need to change your UserID pronto: using RN, LPN or Nurse in one's username without having earned the designation is against the TOS of this website, as well as illegal in most States. You can be "tangholafutureRN", or something like that :)

My next thought is that there's a reason Florida wants you to take a remediation course before being allowed another attempt at NCLEX: there's something you are missing, something you are not understanding, and you need to address that before doing this test again. After all, doing the same thing over and over yet expecting different results is....insanity itself.

FWIW, yes you can apply to take the NCLEX without ever stepping foot in Georgia; you submit your application and fees (yep, more fees) to the GA BoN and they either issue you an ATT (so that you can become licensed for GA) or deny your application.

Remember that in order to practice in Florida after obtaining a Georgia license, you'd need to apply again to Florida for an endorsement (more fees) to your license.

But honestly? You should find out why it is you have failed it three times (ie: review course attendance) so you don't waste even more money and time in taking an exam you aren't prepared to pass. Just my two cents.

I applied to my states BRN right after graduation however I received a job offer from out of state and I did the following:

1. Go on the new states BRN website or call them and figure out what they need in order to apply to their BRN. Although I was not in GA I was told that I needed a finger print card, the application, show that my school is accredited, transcript and the fee to process your application.

2. Overnight all of this to them.

3. Call Pearson Vue to change your jurisdiction which will cost you approximately $50.

4. Wait for the ATT; you'll be able to test in your state for another states license once you are approved.

5. Figure out what your weakness content wise and study your butt of.

Good luck!
