Are you saying you could fit everything in a tight squeeze for four months? If there is a time limit of four months, I would gear myself up to do everything and realize that things would return to a more normal pace after the four months. Of course, you are going to need cooperation from the kids and you have to be careful with your health habits. You can't afford to get sick and lose out on all of this. Good luck with your decision. Hope you can get it all done without any major problems.
Thanks I know it has been hard for me finding a job. I ve been looking for 10 months now. I thought with my 10 years as LVN I would find something but nope. So I know I have been blessed to have this offer, per diem job, and training, I dont want to let any one of them slip through my fingers.
thanks again caliotter3!
nope no pay for the training but its a great experience..only half the grads that applied were chosen. Its a great opportunity that I am not going to pass up. I have a per diem job already and I am debating whether I should take on another per diem at the urgent care or if that would be too much. I also have to consider I have a 4 month old and I dont want to take more time away from her than I already am. My 15 year old loves his mom but doesnt mind not seeing his mom LOL
What exactly is this "training program"? Is it a hospital new grad program or something else? They don't pay you? Are you paying THEM? And no job guarantee after the 4 months? I would need to know more about this program before offering an opinion. It doesn't sound like any new grad program I've ever heard of. How many hours a week is it, and what would your schedule with the program look like?
I ve never heard of anything like this either, it was sent to me by my college. But just today a colleague of mine said she went through one and it was the most rewarding experience. It is a new grad transition program set up by the local community colleges to train in different local hospitals. I am assigned to a Med/Surg unit which is exactly the kind of experience I have been looking for. I dont care about the no pay to me the experience is far more valuable and its only a couple nights a week. Ive been roughing it these last months just looking for a job, I think I can rough it just a few more months. Its worth it!

Hey everyone,
I had already submitted a post regarding my issue but now another issue has come up and I dont know what to do. I was accepted into a new grad training program course:yeah:, I already have a per diem job( which lately they have been calling me in almost everyday), Im going to school online, and I am a mother of a 15 year old and 4 month old . This training program will give me exactly the experience I need for a hospital job, it is only 4 months and does not guarantee a job but its really really great experience and I was very lucky to get in!! Now I dont know what to do with a job offer at an urgent care. I made them aware of this great training opportunity and I am debating whether taking the urgent care job even per diem would be too much for me. I wish I could do it all because I went to 3 interviews for this job and really liked the people there and the experience I would get. I feel horrible telling them that I wont be able to do it after all with this new grad program. What would you guys do?? Work your butt off for 4 months and keep the 2 per diem jobs and do the training? or say no to the offer?
Thanks everyone for your time
