take the job or not...what would you do?

Published

Hey everyone,

I had already submitted a post regarding my issue but now another issue has come up and I dont know what to do. I was accepted into a new grad training program course:yeah:, I already have a per diem job( which lately they have been calling me in almost everyday), Im going to school online, and I am a mother of a 15 year old and 4 month old . This training program will give me exactly the experience I need for a hospital job, it is only 4 months and does not guarantee a job but its really really great experience and I was very lucky to get in!! Now I dont know what to do with a job offer at an urgent care. I made them aware of this great training opportunity and I am debating whether taking the urgent care job even per diem would be too much for me. I wish I could do it all because I went to 3 interviews for this job and really liked the people there and the experience I would get. I feel horrible telling them that I wont be able to do it after all with this new grad program. What would you guys do?? Work your butt off for 4 months and keep the 2 per diem jobs and do the training? or say no to the offer?

Thanks everyone for your time :nurse:

And does it cost you money?

I guess I don't see the point in it, then. I would take the job offers. You cannot put the class on your resume as work experience.

How much money are you talking? What exactly would you be doing?

I should you send you the flyer , klone ;), you seem really interested in the program. But thanks for the advice, really appreciate it. :)

I dont know how much yet because I havent registered for the course yet. And Ill be trained as an RN on the floor on a Med/Surg unit. So I am guessing its not like clinical because during school you dont have your license yet so there is many things they dont let you do and the things they do let you do you have to be supervised. Maybe this training will gives more independence, I dont know Im just guessing.

I would make the decision that makes the longest lasting impact. It may it hardship for a short time, but it will make your future better. It looks tough now with taking care of your kids and everything else, but it will be easier later.

Thanks so much CecileSF, I did just that...for some reason I feel I made the right decision. Mama always said do what feels right in your heart. And I've learned always listen to your mama ;)
