Tacoma Community College Nursing Program

Published

Hi... I was just accepted into the TCC Nursing Program. Does anyone out there have any advice or information to offer? I'd appreciate hearing about the program, instructors, clinicals, etc. Thanks! Oh, one more thing... if you are aware of any specific information that would be beneficial to review prior to starting, please let me know.

FionaSophia...

I have a question about your email. Did they ask you to submit an acceptance letter or respond to the email within a certain amount of time? Maybe they're holding out posting Winter acceptances and reject notices, until they hear from those chosen for Fall, just in case some have chosen to go to different colleges.

Yes, that's me...grasping at straws:)

THe heading on the email was "your tcc application" and the letter basically said respond by the 13th of aug. So I sent back the acceptance form. I'm sure they will admit more after the 13th if they don't fill all 24 spots.

My best friend got in as well and she had a 3.96 or something. She had one a- in a 5 credit english class.

I'm sure they sent out all the fall. BUT I am also sure not all 24 will accept and they will continue to offer spots until fall is full.

hope is still here.

I have not heard from anyone else who got in.

FionaSophia,

Thank you so much for your quick response...and for giving us that little bit of hope! I've read your past posts, and you have the most amazingly optomistic attitude...I think you're going to make a great nurse!

P.S.-I was sorry to hear about your loss...:sniff:

Aww, thank you for saying that.

I want everyone to get in with me! It's not fair that the selection process is so fierce. I don't like that we are forced to compete with one another. I am glad that part is over, at least until it's time for me to look for a job.

I hate to bug the nursing department because there are probably 100 nursing students breathing down their necks right about now, but I just can't take it anymore and had to ask. I decided to go ahead and send an e-mail first, to give them an opportunity to answer at their convenience, but if they don't respond quickly I will have to call. LOL Anyway, I asked when they are sending out the winter acceptance letters. I'll let you know if/when I hear anything...

well, i called this afternoon because they never answered my e-mail lol she said that they will send out the winter letters after they finish filling the fall spots. she said they are still filling the fall spots, which i assume she is referring to the fact that they are waiting for all of the responses in case someone is not going to accept their spot. so i asked if they thought they would send out the e-mails this week and she said yes, they hope so. she said they are working hard to get all of the fall spots filled (which doesn't really make sense to me) and they are going to do their best to get the winter letters out this week. although she sounded hopeful, i'm afraid that we might not see winter letters until next week :( hth

Thanks "Stressed" for the info...you rock! But, what timing! I just finished my Finite Math final today, and am now getting ready to leave for NJ in the morning...I was really hoping to hear something (good or bad) by then. Oh well, I'll just keep checking my emails and this post...for news while I'm on vacation. Whew...what a roller coaster ride!

This is a serious roller coaster...and I think it is coming off the tracks!!! I demand to know right now!!! LOL..JK! But I really do want to know right now. Oh well...lets play some more of the waiting game!!

Well, I would like to get off the roller coaster this week LOL Obviously I want it to be because I'm getting in, but at this point I almost don't even care if I get a rejection letter. I'm just getting sick of the ride.

I wish you all the best of luck. Let me know if you hear anything.

i understand your pain...but just hang in there....before you know it you will be reading thick text books and learning how to write a care plan using the concept mapping format...getting up at four in the morning so you can arrive at your clinical site at six in the morning...:)

They are sending out acceptance emails for winter as we speak!!! Check your emails...and keep us updated!!!--I have not gotten one...but my friend did! I am so proud of her!
