T-Shirt Art

Recently, I biked into town and visited my Alma Mater. Although it is only 6 1/2 miles from my home, I hadn't been there since 1991, to complete a second associate degree, having regularly attending classes since 1976.

I got involved with the Alumni Association, got a library card, was taken on a tour, and talked about my years there. I was surprised to learn my A&P instructor, a class I took in 1988, still teaches there part time!

Well, my visit inspired me to replicate the institution's original logo from 1970, but I could not find the image as a reference online anywhere. I took to looking through my old journals and found a xeroxed copy I had saved and this is the result:

The County Arts Council was located on the college's premises and I was on the board during my free-lance art days back in the late '90's. The council has since changed its name and moved to a big building, donated by a wealthy local family, which houses its offices and a museum.

I did an old logo using a letterhead save from my time on the board:

The former logo caused me to think of the defunct hospital to which I was involved from 1979 to 2000. There, I got my EMT-B, my NREMT-A in 1981, my LPN in 1983, was hired there in 1984, got my RN in 1990 and worked until the last day of that hear.

The hospital operated from August 1949 until July 2001 and this was its logo when I was involved with it. Again, I could find no online images, and resorted to my own resources to use as a reference:

Since I regularly use the local library, I created this rendition of its logo yesterday:

I've been doing T-shirt art for years, still wear several of them, but these are my recent creations,

Here's a T-shirt from the early 'aughts I wore before we went to scrubs. I did this with a stencil and acrylic paint, and have two others in black and gray.
