SWTCC Fall 2014 Nursing Hopefuls

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

Hi all!

Just wondering if there are any hopeful candidates out there for the Southwest Tennessee Community College Nursing Program for Fall 2014?

If so, do you mind sharing your ranking index score with me? Or your NLN? I scored a 132 on the NLN and wanted to retake it to try for a higher score, but was told that my score was "high" for SWTCC so I settled for it. After reading some of the posts on here, though, I now feel as though my score is mediocre, at best.

Well until March, I guess? If I don't make it then I will try next semester. Wishing everybody well.[/quote'] are you applying other places ?

I have applied to Baptist. I wanted to apply to Northwest but you have to be a resident.

I have heard a LOT of setbacks about Baptist :( Hopefully we'll get in to SWTCC and won't have to worry with other places! Good luck!

We were notified in April last year for Fall 2013. Sit tight guys it will be a while before they call/email :/ Sent from my iPad using allnurses.com[/quote'] do you knw about clinicals for night / weekend students like do they have clinicals sat& Sunday or just one of those days

If you go to the registration for Spring 2014 and look at the first semester of nursing classes you should be able to get an idea as to what days/times they offer classes and clinicals. I know they offer clinicals on Friday and Saturday for both daytime and evening programs, but I think they sometimes have them on Thursdays or Sundays as well.

Looking at the schedules I think it is just one day. You may have to ask the nursing dept in regards. When you think of it, you're going to have several nursing courses and most of the classes with the exception of dosages will have clinicals associated with each one. I would imagine that they allow for 1 12 hr day for each class.

Yeah as far as I know you only have clinicals the one day. You register for clinicals as you would a regular class and you decide which day you prefer. However, I did notice VERY limited seating (I believe it was 8 students per clinical day) so you may have to be flexible with your availability. This is just my observation, though, and I could be totally wrong. Sounds like you would be better suited to meet with an actual Nursing Advisor or a current student to answer your questions. You are working with a bunch of rookies here lol

Mon-fri 8-5 & class mon/wed nights.. That's why I come on here to get a lil insight to what I have to look forward to if I am excepted into spring 2015 night /weekend

Hi there. I just graduated from the SWTCC nursing program in December and I was in night/weekend classes. I too worked Mon-Fri. 8-5pm and went to classes on Tues. and Thurs. nights after Foundations. You will have one clinical class per week and those are approximately 12 hours long. You will have the option of Friday, Saturday and Sunday for your clinical days.

The program is very time consuming and may even be difficult at times but there were several people who maintained a full time job while in the program. Also, if you read some of my posts on here you will probably get a good deal of your questions answered.
