SWTCC Fall 2014 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hi all!

Just wondering if there are any hopeful candidates out there for the Southwest Tennessee Community College Nursing Program for Fall 2014?

If so, do you mind sharing your ranking index score with me? Or your NLN? I scored a 132 on the NLN and wanted to retake it to try for a higher score, but was told that my score was "high" for SWTCC so I settled for it. After reading some of the posts on here, though, I now feel as though my score is mediocre, at best.

Well congrats on making the cut! lol.....That's a bit of a relief to know they accepted mid 50s though! Thanks!!

lol thanks. Don't give up if they wait list you!

Oh I don't plan on it lol. . . . I just wish I knew because I would gladly retake the classes I got B's in to boost my index score if need be

I wouldn't worry about it too much! I know . . . easier said than done. I was a nervous wreck for 2 months before I found out even though I knew I would be accepted!

I would be okay if I had that confidence, but with a 56.7 index score I am on pins and needles awaiting my verdict lol

Just remember, your admission also depends on the other applicants! I have *heard* that the index scores for the Fall class are typically slightly lower, because those applying for the Night/Weekend program (Spring) usually only take one class at a time due to FT work commitments, etc and tend to have higher GPAs because of that. Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but I guess the point of this rambling is possibly expect lower index scores lol.

I have heard that as well so maybe, just MAYBE, there is some truth to that and I will get in! Hey, while I have the attention of someone who actually got accepted, can you tell me about the costs? I looked up the book requirements for the first semster on efollet and the total came to a whopping $649! You have to buy uniforms and stethoscopes and all of that before starting the program, too, right?

I'm currently in the program. I don't know the exact index score but I know of people accepted with mid 50s for our class. They were also calling people during the summer as some did not accept their spots. I haven't heard anything about the new building, except it is "supposed" to be open for the fall.. as far as them accepting more people, I'm not sure. It isn't just about the space needed but the amount of staff as well.[/quote']what was your index score ? & thanks for replying

Bex, I sent you a PM :)

And my index score was right under 61

PM'd you back :)

Well, until March, I guess? If I don't make it then I will try next semester. Wishing everybody well.
