Swedish RN Residency for January and Fabruary 2015 cohorts

Published

Hi there! I just submitted my applications for Seattle Swedish Jan and Fed 2015 cohorts. Anyone else applied for those positions? Getting excited?

Has anyone applied for previous cohorts? Please share your experiences and give some advises. Would love to hear from you guys!

Thank you!

Hi! I am applying as well! Which area are you applying to?? I did my senior practicum at Swedish and loved it.

I just submitted my application today! Does anyone know the timeline for the application process...when they close the application, when they start making calls, etc.?

Hi, lovedogs31.

Lucky you! I never had a chance to do any of my clinicals at Swedish, but I liked it a lot from what I've seen as a patient there.

I actually applied for both Med/Surg, ED, and CCU (Feb cohort), and Women/Infant care (Jan cohort). What about you?

Hi, feetinthedirt!

I am not an expert, but from what I've seen in previous posts, applications are usually open for a very short period of time. The timeline for phone and in-person interviews depends greatly on number of applicants and your "number in line". Some people got their initial calls fairly soon (within a month), while others had to wait for a little longer.

Hopefully, someone who has gone through this residency will join our conversation and will answer those questions based on their experience :)

Has anyone heard back yet for an interview? I submitted mine on the third of September.

So far I got a message that I was not selected for "New to Specialty - Adult Critical Care" position at Swedish. No updates on all other applications for residencies at Swedish.

Here is a link to a another discussion of Swedish Residencies: https://allnurses.com/washington-nursing/swedish-nurse-residency-945516-page2.html

Seems like someone has already heard from HR for an interview.

How were you notified that you didn't get adult critical care position? Was it by email or phone?

Email. Also, when you check your Jobpage, the status of your application should change to "Under Consideration" (usually a good sign, meaning your application made it through "machine", and may actually be looked at by a human being) or to "Considered: Not Selected" if you didn't get a job.

Thanks Uptotheskies! Has anyone been able to get a hold of anyone in HR? I tried calling just to get a name of someone that I could address my cover letter, but I just kept getting transferred to their automated line.

flyawaynat,

I'm in the same boat. Calling HR never helped me, I was also sent to automated line. Have you tried emailing Swedish RN Residency program at [email protected] ?

Hi all- did you try emailing? It worked for me the last times.
