I recently moved from las vegas so dont have much network here to know the timeline.

Thanks

I applied to Swedish March 2020 cohort back in beginning November, completed the one way video interview a few days after, received an invitation for in person interview in beginning December, flew to Seattle for interview during Christmas week and got an offer the same day at noon. So the process took over 2 months basically from application to hiring.

Ahhh, I'm relocating to Seattle from Bay Area, California. Currently in the process of endorsing my license to WA but CA BRN is taking forever and apparently they're behind on paperwork...

I recommend to push your interview forward as soon as possible to do it. I emailed my recruiter and asked her if I interviewed any later in January, will I still have an opportunity to join March 2020 cohort? She said she wouldn't count on it. I'm assuming as soon as they reach the amount of nurses they need, they'll tell you to join next cohort? Im not 100%. Just an FYI

Thank you!
Peds scheduled it for 1/23/2020 so maybe they haven’t filled it. I was surprised myself they waited this long

Good luck!! The nurses who I've met at Swedish thus far (First Hill/Cherry Hill) were all super friendly(:

How were the interviews for you? I am planning to submit my video interview next week!

All behavioral questions during in person interview. Same thing with the video interview. I noticed that as long as you're genuine and friendly it really helps during interview even if your answer is pretty ordinary or you didn't answer as well as you wanted.

Nice! Thanks for the heads up. I found this question floating around online;

Please share about a time when your assigned patient was exhibiting symptoms that made you feel like you needed to act quickly to intervene. What was the situation, what did you do, what was the outcome?

Did they ask you this question too?

I believe they did. I don't remember exactly, but I have seen that questions be asked in multiple video interviews I've done, so be prepared for that question for sure.

So today I was feeling super down about my rejection from TGH and last night I applied for every NICU position I could find.

1. Valley medical

2. Swedish Issaquah

3. UW medical

so I just called alllll of them today. Valley said they were already doing interviews Tuesday and that “if” they don’t find anyone they’ll open application back up (doubt it) , I tried calling Issaquah and couldn’t reach manager since I never got a call for the first hill campus ? I got forwarded to a voicemail and I just left a message. UW said they doubt they’ll do a residency for NICU anytime this year right now.

I ended up getting a call back from the manager at the NICU from Swedish that actually turned out to be at the first hill campus. She invited me in for an interview TODAY as in I had to be there in an hour. I got there prepared and answered questions and got a tour of the unit. They seemed very family team oriented and I loved that but not the commute to get there. Overall I’m super greatful I got to interview and hope to get offered the position. After the interview I got a call from valley medical for a medsurg position interview. I will keep in mind if not offered at Swedish

my best advice is to call call call the manager because she said she really was glad I reached out to her today

I didn’t get asked this question in my interview but I got asked

why do you want to work for this unit

describe a difficult coworker /family

describe a difficult patient

explain a time you made a mistake

explain a time where you didn’t agree with a manager

explain a time in clinical where you had to handle multiple tasks at once

what is your proudest moment in nursing school?
