Hi everyone!! I applied to Southern Westchester Boces and I am scheduled to take my entrance exam next Thursday. I am looking for anyone who has attended or has recently been accepted to the school. Or even anyone who knows anything about the test and scores needed in order to get accepted. I'm getting very nervous about the exam and any advice would be appreciated. I am curious to know how students are accepted - what scores are they looking for? Thank you!
I Took the entry exam at Boces SW and finally received my test scores. My total percentile is 64. I was told that you have to score a 50 on each section in order to be a candidate for an interview/,or the program. For those who have either attempted to take the entry exam or previously took it.. Can someone help clarify whether or not the school goes by the total score or the score of each section?
Hello! :) I was wondering if anyone took the entrance exam recently at the Harrison location..? I took mine this Saturday.. Reading this thread definitely helped me understand the application process..is the Elmsford location now the Harrison location? I just wanted to know if anyone is in the same situation waiting for their scores/interview

Hey! U took the test this Sat? You will probably receive it on a Monday .. I received my result 3 weeks after I took my test ..and I got a call the following day ..my interview was two weeks after because it got postponed due to the snow storm we had...make sure u read the interview questions on here it really helps! It's a long waiting process because they told me to wait 3 weeks after the interview as well for my decision letter ! Im pretty sure you did well!! The mail will come the least u expect it lol
So you are in! Congrats!
Wow, it really is a long process, almost 2 months.I feel like I have to apply to one more school so that I run out of time if I don't get accepted and I'll find out at the end of May.
I feel confident about the reading and the vocabulary parts but I am not so sure about math, it's not my strong point.Let's wait and see!

Oh im still waiting for the decision letter ! They told me 3 weeks so im not in the program yet..it's 3 week wait for exam results and 3 week wait for the letter...I read some people received the letter 5 days but that's cause they took the test in June ..I think you have a great chance because it's still technically early and there were still people taking the prep class ...yes the math is def challenging it's been so long! Did U take the prep class? It is a good idea to have a back up plan. I was also thinking of applying for the boces in rockland. They have a different test but I heard it's not time limited ..but u have to finish the test all together in 90 mins. Let's just keep waiting and wishing for the good news !
Hi Guys! I just discovered this forum yesterday and I wish I had all this advice before taking the exam! I took the exam on March 9th and received my scores 2 weeks later and was called for an interview 3 days later. Now I'm freaking out because my interview is Tuesday and I feel completely unprepared

Hi!
Any news yet?
I am still waiting but I guess it's still early.
Initially I was also thinking of applying to Rockland BOCES, too but I live in Queens and it's too far for me and I have to pay the GW brige tolls.Harrison is closer.I am also going to apply to VEEB in Long Island.Do you live in Westchester?

Oh yes def Harrison and Veeb is closer for you ..I would def try out for the other one as well ..Rockland you would have to pay two bridges then cause of the Tappan Zee .. in still waiting on my results ! I feel so anxious cause it's been about 3 weeks now..I'm thinking probably after the Spring break cause next week is their break I'll def give them a call and check and see if I'm in or not !

The coordinator said they were sending out letters this week about what the book list and reading assignments will be. They were just a bit delayed. So hopefully we should get it by the beginning of next week.
