SW Boces Entrance Exam

Hi everyone!! I applied to Southern Westchester Boces and I am scheduled to take my entrance exam next Thursday. I am looking for anyone who has attended or has recently been accepted to the school. Or even anyone who knows anything about the test and scores needed in order to get accepted. I'm getting very nervous about the exam and any advice would be appreciated. I am curious to know how students are accepted - what scores are they looking for? Thank you!

hey everyone, so i called boces today..like as soon as they opened lol..spoke with dina again. I have until august 13th to pay, thank goddd, i was really nervous all weekend :) thanks to everyone who wrote me back though.

Thats really good to hear. Im glad everything worked out. I know how nerve racking this whole process could be. Now you can breathe again (for a little). When is your orientation?

well on the letter is says "registration" is tomorrow 7/28/10, not sure if that's the same thing as orientation. It says it could take up to two hours..It seems like it may be early for orientation so, this may be different, not so sure. If anyone knows, please post just so I know what to expect tomorrow. I know all boces are different too so..

it was good, and yes it was also orientation. We filled out a lot of paperwork, got our picture taken for our ID cards, and then one of the instructors (not one we will have) spoke. She spoke about getting organized, taking notes, the summer assignment, how to manage our time and so forth. Overall I was there for about two hours. We also got our books and supplies lists, which is not included in our tuition, so that's an addition $1600 I'll have to shell out. So even though this is going to be REALLLY expensive and I'm pretty much broke considering only my fiance is working, because I am nearing my due date ( I am 8 months preggo)...I'm still very excited about the journey that lies ahead :)

september 8...only have class one day that week cuz of holidays lol, but can't wait to get started :) what about u? when do you start?

our orientation is august 30th and i believe first day of classes is the 7th of sept.

Hey everyone!!!!

Orientation starts in only 1 week from today!! Can you guys believe it? I don't know about for you, but my summer FLEW by. I hope everyone enjoyed their summer though, I know I did. From here on out, we're all going to be working hard! I can't wait to meet everybody and get started with the program. This is something that I have wanted to do for a very long time and I am so happy that it's finally here. Hopefully we can create life-long friendships in the process of advancing our careers! Good luck to everyone and again, I can't wait to meet you all! :)
