I enrolled in Survey of Organic and Biochemistry, thinking that this is organic chemistry but I've been told by someone that its biochemistry and is not Organic. Is this true? I looked online and do not even think my school teaches an Organic Chem course. If so then it means that I am going to take even more chemistry classes than planned. I am getting discouraged. All of this chemistry and I might as well try to go to med school
I'm trying to get into Wright State University and it says you need Organic chem, and I'm wondering if Survey of Organic and Biochemistry counts as Organic Chem

If you have a particular nursing program in mind, you might contact them and find out whether the course counts toward their prerequisities.

I agree -- checking with the program you want to attend is your best, safest action. That way you'll know for sure.

I am pretty such you're in the right course; that is, if your doing nursing pre-reqs. No schools in California require general organic chemistry into their nursing program besides for UCLA and UC Irvine. Besides, general organic chem is what bio, premed, etc majors take.

Yes, I agree with others. Each school has their own admission standards. Check with the schools you are planning on applying to.

That's one of the pre-req courses nursing programs around here want. It's not an Organic Chemistry class. At my current college, in fact, Survey is CHE 1320 while General Chemistry is CHE 1510.
