Surgical Center Nursing

I used to come here often after I graduated, I am wondering if there is an area in the forums that center around Surgical Centers.

I am new to the management role and in the Surgical Center it's a challenge due to the fact that I have so many questions, and I am not certain where to find the answers to them.

For instance scope of practice for my CNA's

As well as LPN's and RN's

Policy Writing

I have a lot of questions in terms of writing Policies, when we write policies for a center or place of business we have to have the policy be compliant with Joint Commission as well as it being legal what might be a good resource for such things?

Any help or direction to another forum that might center on some of these topics would be appreciated.

I would query the Joint Commission website. That's a good place to start for benchmarks. Are you affiliated with a large health system? There should already be policy in place.

No we have a few Centers but there is no large healthcare affiliations.

AORN has a forum for ASCs and I believe even a specialty assembly as well. The site is a wealth of info for perioperative nurses

I know in Tx the BON has the scope of practices available to look at
