So yesterday I had oral surgery. I had a tooth extracted and a bone graft placed for preparation for an- implant. The dentist gave me a script for Vicodin. At first I was like no I will just deal with the pain until the pain began and the local wore off, I was crying it hurt so much. A friend, also a nurse in the program let me Know that as long as I have a script and documentation of the surgery it would be okay. I got the script filled and have been taking it as prescribed. Has anyone else been through this, what happens if I am tested ? At this point I have been able to deal with the pain but once it begins to throb and Tylenol and massive doses of Motrin are not working I had to take one pain pill before bed so I can sleep. Any feedback would be very appreciated. Also stepping up the meetings, as a precaution again my mind.

Call your case worker ASAP they can suspend your testing until you complete you meds but you have to stay off work until they have a negative screen at least that how it works in Texas.Because once you have a positive test and then say something they say you are not following the program I sent a email from the ER and my case worker responded next am everything was ok but she did say always call or email first thing .

Yes I actually emailed my case worker from the pharmacy and took pictures of the scripts. I had surgery on Saturday. Thank you so much TXRNC. I don't work as an RN right now but that is my goal so I do not want to mess this up.

newmommy: the advice TXRNC gave you is correct- at least for TPAPN. best of luck!

As Lon as you call your case worker and fill out the appropriate paper work per portico you should be fine.

When a friend of mine in our state's program, she had to bring a form with her and have her MD fill it out saying that he know she was in the program (there were a few more things on the page but i can't remember what they were)
