Hello everyone,
I realize when I had to write my nursing exam how much pressure I experienced about the whole thing. I wrote mine in June 2010 and passed in first attempt but still remember when I walked out the exam, I was not sure what would be the result.
The purpose of this thread is supporting those nursing students who are planning to write their CRNE in upcoming June. Students, please feel free to share your concerns and questions. Nurses please support those students with tips for study.
Just couple of reminders before we get started:
1. Please do not discuss specific questions or any content tested in CRNE.
2. Please read other threads for more information as well. Other threads give you valuable information and be smart and take them into your advantage.
3. Please stay on topic.
4. Please use proper grammar and spelling.
Thank you all.
Anyone who didn't make it this time my heart goes out to you. I wish you the best on your next round and I believe you will be successful! Sending positive energy your way through the rest of your journey :redbeathe. Keep your head up and I hope you still take some time for yourself, you worked hard and you deserve to acknowledge that and take some time to pat yourself on the back for all of your efforts:)

Couldn't have said it better. I wish everyone the best of luck in the October exam. Do not let these results get you down, it could happen to anybody. Keep your chins up, you will all be RN's.
I decided to start with the single questions first. This worked fine for me. I felt it was a better way to warm up/get started with the test. It's easier for me to skip one single question if I don't like it and come back to it than to see a larger case study and feel overwhelmed if I don't think I know the answer. Starting with the tougher part of the test for some (i.e. longer case studied) may make someone lose confidence at the start of the test.I split the test up this way for time management:
830-930: go through single questions answering as many as a I could and staring the ones I wanted to skip
930-1000: go back to the harder q's. I skipped quite a few actually but felt its better to get the ones I know out of the way first, working from easiest to hardest.
1000-1015: take a bathroom break/drink some water, try to stay calm! stretch!
1015-1115: case study questions, skipping ones that will take longer to think through or that I was unsure of.
1115-1145: finish anything I skipped in the case studies.
1145-1230: fill out the scan card and make sure this is done before the test is over! I was done 10 mins before the exam ended and just left after that. But after I left I thought I should have used the last 10 mins but I was nervous about erasing anything on the scan card since I figured the computer could read something wrong if there were too many pencil erasing marks.
I can't say that will help anyone but I thought I'd share one persons approach. It kept me on track so that at each time interval I could check if I'd be able to finish on time. I don't think I got more than 5-10 mins off track and read each question once and gave an answer to each question.
Here you go PatW
This is another way to look at it. It may works for some but not others so you know which approach works better for you with practice. All I can say is no matter what approach you take, it's important to manage your time and hopefully finish the exam. I've seen many people who only needed couple marks to pass while not being able to answer last 10-12 questions.
All of you who passed, congratulation. Remember to leave you comments, tips, and what you think helped you to be successful for your future colleagues here. Good luck and practice safely. And those who have not been successful this time, don't lose faith and stick around. There are plenty of people here who love to help.
How does the letter being distributed? I live in Etobicoke and i realized that some students in Etobicoke got it. I thought i would get it today but i didn't. Does that mean people who fail get the results late?
Any ideas? please i would really appreciate someone's reply. It's very frustrating to wait.
hi sashad,
"""hi mud, how do you know you failed by 6 points? the rn exam doesn't tell you how many points you fail by from what i understand, it just says you fail. how did you get that information """"

I am in Toronto... It is well past 1pm and still no mail...
I've been pacing in and out looking for the glimpse of the mailman...
The waiting is torture and I am so frustrated at this moment...
I might have to endure the pain over weekend and again start waiting on Monday...
This sucks...
