Super stressed about my future career as a Nurse

I'm super stressed about my future career as a Nurse.

Most of you nursing students may know that the main science classes include Anatomy, Microbiology, and Physiology. Well the grade policy at the college I attend, is that you need a certain overall gpa of 2.5 between those 3 classes. Meaning you'd need at least A's and B's, or maybe 2 C's and an A. Another thing is you can only repeat one of those classes once.

Well I've done Microbiology, took it twice. Got a D the first time, a C the second. Now I'm in Anatomy, half way through, I don't think I'll make it with a C. Okay :crying2:... now, I absolutely don't know what to do to achieve my dreams of being a Nurse, most importantly.. as soon as possible. I suppose it's my fault for not doing what I'm suppose to do, but how do I get around this and be able to achieve my goals? All suggestions, comments, advice is highly appreciated. I really need guidance. I got no one else to go to for this kind of advice so I'm asking all of you Nursing people worldwide lol... :)

As I said, we will agree to disagree. ;)

Hey, OP! I'm taking A&P II right now. It used to whip my tail, mainly because the lecture part is online and it is BORING. However, after learning a few tricks, I'm doing OK now. Some things that help me to stay focused are:

1) Studying alone in a dedicated room that's quiet (less distractions)

2) Having a timer so I can strive to stay focused until the buzzer goes off

3) Not taking calls

4) Blocking everything but educational websites on my browsers

5) Letting everyone around me know that I am studying and that I will talk to them later

6) Making sure to take adequate breaks every half hour or so to keep myself from going insane

Some ways to make it more interesting:

1) Coloring books - they have them on Amazon for Micro & A&P.

2) Search the internet for animations - these are much less boring than plain reading

3) Read out loud to yourself in funny voices

4) Make colorful charts or presentations with pictures as study guides

5) Use the support materials that come with your book, if there are any, because they are usually less dry than the textbook

6) Try teaching the hardest concepts to your pets. (It's worth it just for the looks I get from my dogs! And most of the information sticks in my mind, too!)

Some general advice from a chick who has been in school a combined total of 17 years (so far):

1) Make sure you take some time every day to study (yes, EVERY day), even if it's just 10 minutes while you're in the bathroom

2) Weigh your options very carefully. Some days it is better to hang out with your friends, some days you need to kick them out!

3) DO NOT wait until the week before an exam to study

4) Take your books with you everywhere and look for opportunities to study. I have done it while getting my oil changed, while my husband is driving us to see the in-laws, during lunch and breaks at work, while waiting for friends at restaurants, etc., etc.

5) Make a study plan and STICK TO IT. Reward yourself with mani/pedis, Starbucks, or whatever floats your boat, every time you meet a goal (like finishing a chapter).

Hope some of this helps you. :o
