Hey all! Wanted to start a thread for others who've applied to SUNY Downstate for the accelerated program in Summer 2016. I submitted my application back in August, and am finishing 2 final prerequisites this semester, and am anxiously awaiting a decision!
My application status says, "Application Sent to Committee." Have other folks applied and/or heard back yet? Would love to know if people are starting to get admissions answers, or have a sense of when that might happen.
Good luck everyone!
thanks guys! I was pretty damn excited, and yeah I'm going to accept the offer today. it's the only school I'd applied to so far anyway! haha.
so my status changed to Faculty Screener and stayed that way for about 2 weeks. And then I got an email saying I was missing information (transcripts, which I wasn't, but I re-resent them anyway!) and that day my status changed to "File Return to Admissions." I called immediately (of course) and they said it'd take 1-2 weeks for me to hear the final decision, but then I got the email 2 days later! The subject line was something line "Your decision is ready" and then I had to follow like 3 different links to access it.
Best of luck to both of you!! Hopefully we'll be there together!!
Not really
That was my motivation for applying early... I submitted my application since August 4th, an I still haven't gotten a decision yet. Mind you I submitted everything, nothing is pending or in process... As far as teas or prereqs etc. it all Boils down to who your screener is. Piniella and I applied around the same time more or less and I our applications went through the same stages at the same times as you'll note above, but she heard back since like before thanksgiving meanwhile I'm still waiting. So don't fret. If you got faculty screener 6 though you're prolly in for a speedy decision
Have you guys seen on the deadline page: "Applications will be accepted on a space available basis." When was this change made? Do you guys think this increases/decreases our odds of getting accepted? Is anyone on the thread taking their TEAS last minute? @bktid- have you seen any changes on your application? I really hope the applicant pool for downstate is less than Stony....
