Hi everyone,

I've started this thread so we can discuss and share our experiences applying to SUNY's ABSN program for 2021. Being that the application period just opened, I’m sure we can all benefit from sharing information in regards to the process.

I’m taking it right now! I’ve completed 2 modules so far that have gone well, I really like the formatting of the class. Definitely recommend it!

Hi everyone! I've been following this thread for a while- I still haven't heard anything about my application either, it just says "screening in progress".

I'm curious what everyone's experience is like? I work a full time job not in the healthcare field at all, and I'm worried that since I don't have medical experience it might hinder my application. I am certified in phlebotomy but thats about the extent of my experience. Any thoughts? I'm getting nervous haha

Has anyone heard anything? I'm thinking of emailing them again but I don't want to piss them off!

I’ve heard nothing. I signed up for another information session in two weeks just to see what they have to say ??

I don't think there will be interviews as they said the word decisions starting March

Has anyone submitted a deposit at another school? Downstate is my top choice but I only have a few days to put down a deposit for another school that’s a backup in case I don’t get into downstate. I just don’t want it to have any affect on my application for downstate

Yes hopefully we hear back soon. Does anyone know if downstate accepts Pathophysiology from another school or do we have to take it with them. I am taking it now and don’t  want to waste my time for no reason

Hi,

I was reading the student handbook from the 2019-2020 school year. ( here)

This was their criteria for transferring credits. It looks like they do take it from certain schools. But, just to be sure, you should reach out to them because things can always change for the upcoming school year.
