Hey I know we still have about four months before we can begin applying to the accelerated program but i was wondering , what are you guys doing to prepare your application and Etc.

Hey, I just saw your response. I'm on the same boast as you -- with respect to your TEAS score. I am going to take the risk, and apply for the program, considering that my MATH score is below their requirement ( 70%). I suppose it's better, than not trying.

Elwin,

I went to the info session this past Wednesday, and if you don't have those minimum scores on your TEAS V, you can't even apply to the program. The deadline to take the TEAS V, has been extended to December 10th.

Also, when I was working on my application, I typed in the score and the website prompted me to an error message saying something like this "ERROR: One of your tests does not meets the minimum allowable score". Good Luck!

Wow! Thank you for the information.I was still able to put in my scores(not sure, if there is a glitch in my application). Due to a time constraint, I'm unable to retake the TEA's. Are you planning on taking it again?

Hi, wondering if anyone else here has been accepted to SUNY Downstate ABSN for summer 2015? Would love to get in touch.

Hi sumiink,

I was just accepted this week! I still can't believe it!

Hi sumiink,

I was just accepted this week! I still can't believe it!

Congrats! I am pretty sure I'll be accepting my place. Once I do, I'd like to start a Facebook group like last year's incoming class did. It would be nice to get in touch this way since I'm out of state at the moment (Seattle).

My main question at this point is whether there's any way to get around taking the 2 soc/anthro electives I'm still missing - anyone have success using CLEP scores for this, or getting a second opinion on transcript evaluations?

Congrats!!!!

Was your acceptance thru email or snail mail? My SUNY page has an acceptance check list but I haven't received anything.

It was through email. I think i noticed the checklist about 3 to 4 weeks before i got the acceptance letter. Fingers crossed for you!!!

Congrats all you that had been accept by nursing program. My application just send to committee. I am so nervous now right. I am wondering how long it will take you status to change from "send to committee" to "returned to admission". In addition, I am wondering would you guys share the you TEAS V score and GPA as well as related experiences with me. I want to see how is my situation. Thank you so much! Congrats once again.

Hi ShainaZ! I tried not to check my status too often, so I can't tell you exactly how long it took for the application to go to the committee and then back to admissions. I submitted my application in late August and I think i noticed "sent to committee" maybe in early to mid October. I noticed "File returned to admissions" in mid-November. Got an answer mid-December. I expect they have a faster decision process now, since the application deadline has passed.

My TEAS score was:

Reading: 92.9%

Mathematics: 83.3%

I actually can't track down my exact cumulative GPA right now, but I think it's in the 3.3 - 3.6 range. I wasn't a great student in undergrad, but scored all A's (except for Micro, which was a B+) in my science pre-reqs.

I hope you hear something back soon!

Thanks Sohokat.

wow,you submitted your application so early. I submitted my application in 11/11/14. Hope to hear the good news soon!

I'm not sure about when my status changed either, except when I got the emails. I can't remember my exact TEAS score, but it was in the 90's for both math & reading. My undergrad GPA was 3.54, and my prereq GPA was 3.9. Good luck to you both, keep us posted..

sohokat, do you have any outstanding prereqs or did you complete them all?
