I submitted my application for Downstate but they stated review of my application is incomplete until I take the TEAS exam (I am taking mid September). I bought a book on amazon for the new test and will also use that along with my HESI study guide to prepare since both exams have similar formats, although I read that the TEAS is harder than HESI for some reason (I took HESI earlier this year for Lehman College). I am also registered for a pharmacology course through Cayuga Community which I hope I can transfer it in. I will take pathophysiology next Spring through another SUNY college if not available through Cayuga.
@motherclucking I was told that just over 400 people applied. I'm not sure how that compares to how many applicants there were in recent years. Does anyone know how many spots there are?
Also, there is another thread that is slightly more active than this one! https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/suny-downstate-absn-1072903.html

Hi all,
I know it's early in the process, but thought this could be a thread going forward for people who know they will be applying to the SUNY Downstate Accelerated BSN program for summer 2017.
I only have one pre-req left, Chemistry, which I'm going to try and take online at BMCC this fall. I was also going to try and take a BMCC Pharmacology class, but saw on another thread that it might not be transferable. If anyone has thoughts on these classes, or has taken the TEAS yet, I'd love to hear from you!
